Nevermind, I guess, but Dangerous is Jackson's best post-Thriller record: an album in which his demons, at their most neurotic to date, find their correlative in Teddy Riley's post-New Jack beats. "Who Is It" and "In The Closet" are top 10 Jackson for sure, and this may be his only album in which there are enough good album tracks competing with singles for your attention.

Ice Cube vs Nirvana for me. I voted Cube. I think it holds up better.

nicky lo-fi, Tuesday, 16 December 2008 01:41 (seventeen years ago)

Nevermind is amazing, but voting for it here is soooooooo boring.

this may be his only album in which there are enough good album tracks competing with singles for your attention.

Dude, it's an excellent record, but what about Off the Wall?! "I Can't Help It," "Girlfriend," "Burn This Disco Out'!

If Timi Yuro would be still alive, most other singers could shut up, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 01:35 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, and I mean, Thriller, too.

How many ILXors have heard more than one of these albums all the way through? More than two? I know Nevermind and I've heard most of Dangerous, but then it starts getting pretty vague. Tempted to vote for Kriss Kross since I love the singles.

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 02:50 (seventeen years ago)

Most of these albums are crap. This was a really crappy year for the Billboard charts, aside from the emergence of Nirvana and alternative music.

It's the bulls and blood
It's the dust and mud
It's the roar of a Sunday crowd
It's the white in the knuckles
The gold in his buckles
As he spins the next go-round

Eazy, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 06:21 (seventeen years ago)
