Too hard to choose between World Premier (just shades it over Rocket Science), KMD, Dead Bent and the EP. Spose I should go with KMD since err serendipity with my ilx name and all but i'm unsure. The EP was erm elongated, had the nice instrumentals for Johnny Rookie Card and No Doubt, and a fun Arsonists track. Harsh leaving out the Scars and Memories, Sounded Like A Roc / Stop Smoking That Shit, The Session and A Luv Supream releases, any of which I think are better than a few on your top ten.

Did we ever do a "rapper gear changes" thread? Q-Unique going from the corniest of the Arsonists to being in a fucking rapcore band with members of KoRn and rolling with P+Logical has to be up there.

John Harris buying a toaster (The stickman from the hilarious 'xkcd' comics), Tuesday, 23 December 2008 01:23 (sixteen years ago)

The chosen is a really good song though. And on second thoughts on the EP the vocal of No Doubt doesn't have a lot of replay value, that swedish guy going jamaican isn't good, and the arsonists track while great is kinda throwaway. Well, the whole EP is throwaway that's the charm, and yeah I still like those instrumentals a lot, and that ramshackle freestyle MOSTLY, RAPPERS DON'T APPROACH ME CLOSELY but i guess it's not as good a release as the others. I don't really feel j-treds - make it happen, agent orange (excepting the hook) or widespread as much as some other stuff.

subroc back to haunt, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 01:35 (sixteen years ago)

and what, that sounds really good, who is catalyst?

subroc back to haunt, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 01:39 (sixteen years ago)

*spamming thread* @andwhat, it's from Sounded Like a Roc "If I be ghost, expect me back to haunt" kind of poignant in retrospect.

subroc back to haunt, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 01:41 (sixteen years ago)

i owned all of these - voted dead bent/hey - this a super shitty list as far as best fondle em releases goes

ice cr?m, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 01:48 (sixteen years ago)

While I'm spamming, gotta mention two songs by Juggaknots: "Clear Blue Skies" is just a beautiful beat, though the racist gets the best flows, which is a bit of a bummer, and "I'm Going to Kill You" which is simply one of the great songs. Unfortunately they only came out on an LP and a very long EP, the rest of which was, inexplicably, a bit messy.

subroc back to haunt, Tuesday, 23 December 2008 01:55 (sixteen years ago)

subroc i think hes just asking if you're a new poster or if u posted under a diff sn at one point

anyway 'scars and memories' is w/out a doubt my favorite of the tracks posted here -- Grimm was amazing in this era. juggaknots stuff was great too. was 'romper room' on fondle em?? i wasnt exactly copping 12"s in the late 90s of any kind so i just sorta picked up on these over the years

K DEF FROM REAL LIVE (deej), Tuesday, 23 December 2008 05:05 (sixteen years ago)

i've registered like three times, made one post each time and forgot the password, so i'm pretty much a newbie. Romper Room is on the Fondle 'Em EP, it's not bad except the main loop is this really sunny thing, then the change is very serious, and then the hook is off-kilter, just in case you were gonna miss that the lyrics are about growing up in violence. It's a bit too choppy.

This extremely creative thread title was one of mine. I can be safely ignored.
