Girls Against Boys (aka GvsB) - Classic or Dud?

From D.C. via NYC, I do have to confess to feeling that Girls Against Boys never *quite* delivered the goods for me. Lots of girls seem to like them, but that might be more for their pretty boy good looks than their sinestro dual-bass skronk attack. I quite liked "In Like Flynn" off the VENUS LUXURY DELUXE album (or whatever it was called) and some moments off FREAK*O*NICA, and applaud their oft-cited influences (hand-picked FREAK*O*NICA producer Nick Launay worked with --- WAIT FOR IT -- Killing Joke), but keep hoping for more. I'm still inclined to give'em another chance. What is the popular consensus on their latest?

Their new album has a few strong songs and no surprises, nothing to change any minds. It sounds like More House of GVSB, as though they'd never left Touch and Go, and Freak*whatsis had never happened. Maybe a little more conventional rock and less noisy grind.

I must have played "Freakonica" a dozen times, and can't remember a damn thing off it. It's what I'd put on when I wanted the idea of music in the apartment but not the actual reality. Cool blue vinyl, though.
