the 2nd-best t.i. single of the year is also the best #1 of the year...

Only downside to "Whatever You Like" was first hearing the song when I saw the video, and the video is kind of cold-blooded.

well, lists of #1s of a year are never really as good as you expect them to be. I'd bet that a collection of #2 songs would be a lot better.

"Now You're Gone" is better than every track on this list, but p4p the US list is better.

okay, I had to check, there were only three songs that peaked at #2 in 2008:

January 26, 2008 "With You" Chris Brown

obvs The Rev and I will disagree about one in particular but for me 66% of those songs are aces

Eh, the only ones I'd consider an 8/10 or above are the Wayne, Coldplay, Leona and "Live Your Life", and I wouldn't consider any of them a 10/10. Most years shoot better than that.
