Because, in spite of lesser artists, it is indeed a way better album than the first one, with a much larger percentage of new originally written songs.

Went for Tom Petty, just ahead of a surprisingly good entry from Extreme.

Honorable mentions to Boyz II Men and Sinatra/Lauper. Not to mention Tevin Campbell with one of the better versions I've heard of "O Holy Night".
