the whole bavarian fruit bread album is very sexy imho

Moka, Saturday, 27 December 2008 09:46 (seventeen years ago)

slade song is cool -- hadnt heard that before -- fits in w/ the vibe of the stuff we've posted so far pretty well too. i think the aim is a kind of simmering sexuality, sort of a subdued vibe. obv theres tons of stuff that can fit in here but i think this is a good general guideline for ppl to interpret how they wish -- btw i totally plan on stealing other folks ideas and making a mix of this for nye B-D

choom gangsta (deej), Saturday, 27 December 2008 10:07 (seventeen years ago)

Can't find the Blue Nile version for 'Let's go out tonight' on youtube, only the Craig Armstrong version which has too much strings for my taste but that's a good one in a mellow vibe. Also the whole bocanada album if you dont mind it being sung in spanish:

Gustavo Cerati - Bocanada

Gustavo Cerati - Paseo Inmoral

K, that'd be all for tonite. Will post more if I can think of any tomorrow.

Yes it does, but your comment confuses me. Are you dissing on Bono's collaboration on the song? The MDH movie and its soundtrack were produced by Bono (he does some cameo in the film as well, I believe) so the whole soundtrack is pretty much a u2 side project. The MDH band is a fake band created for the movie which includes Bill Frisell, Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois as its former members (all of which are strongly linked with u2).

I'll be the first to admit U2 is an awfully overrated band, and I'm not really into any of their albums yet I cant deny loving their contributions for this particular soundtrack and also for the 'passengers' project they did in 1995 with Eno.

"your blue room" = best thing U2 ever did by roughly yea much: <------------------------>

baby got bahn (country matters), Sunday, 28 December 2008 10:05 (seventeen years ago)

Stating the obvious a little bit over here, but the confusion lies in which you have the soundtrack, assuming because at some point you found it interesting but then on your second comment you seem to diss on bono. I'm supposing because you weren't aware of his heavy influence on it.

Moka, Sunday, 28 December 2008 10:07 (seventeen years ago)

nah i think my dad had it or something and used to play it but at the time i was not deep into u2 and prob had no idea -- also def never saw the film

Yes. Sometimes I wish they had dropped their messiahnic rock wankery at some point in their career and just keep on following on this path.
