i think he's a very talented guy so i would love to hear what he's brought to the mix on this one. unfortunately it's a bloody double album, so i'm trying to justify the price ...

is it just party mix? or is does it do more? what about his choice of tracks?

Very classic but not a mix. Just a 2-CD collection of his remixes. Definitely worth getting.

oh, no flow between the tracks? that's almost better i guess ... any two-disc mix comes off as threateningly ibiza to me.

FoS, have you heard his Let's All Make Mistakes mix-cd? If you're looking for a "party mix" this is probably the closest thing to it, even if it sounds like it's specifically designed for parties held by coyotes and structurally unsound toy shops.

Secondhand Sounds is a collection of remixes, and I'm quite surprised in fact at how the similarities between it and Kruder & Dorfmeister's The K&D Sessions don't end there. For some reason I can't quite pinpoint the two releases have a very similar feel.

No, it would be better if it was mixed. Too many tedious intros/outros built for mixing, but not interesting to listen to on a comp. Personally I found the whole thing a bit disappointing. There are some excellent tracks on there but also quite a few mediocre ones. He has a formula--glitch up the beats a little, cut the vocals up, hey presto. Actually, I was surprised at how much like "normal" house a lot of the tracks are. So you know, if you don't have any of the tracks already it's probably worth buying, but if you do then probably not. A mix really would have helped--put it this way, there is nothing there to touch the segue from Destiny's Child to Dolly Parton on the Soulwax album.

is def worth the price - if u live in london (or nottingham i suppose), it can be found in selectadisc for £11.99 so there's no excuse for not buying it

one month passes...
I'm not ready to be articulate about it yet but I disagree with Ben - I like it fine not as a mix, and I think getting to hear the intros and outros etc is an important and exciting part of the tracks.
