the og "day n nite" is pretty good too but it sounds tedious next to the rmx

the melody is what makes that song -- would have made a great dance remix if crookers knew wtf they were doing -- instead its all over the place

i might have to make a poll about which name is worse, "Crookers" or "Kid Cudi"

its way better than anything on 808s and heartbreak -- memorable melody

yeah but it's got the same kind of monotonous baby's-first-melody shit going on as most other singin' rapper songs...shit makes me yearn for the days when 50 and Andre were the most shameless half-assed singers in hip hop.

this mixtape is okay i guess - like dem franchize boyz or something i appreciate cudi more for his songs than his raps but he's about 1/100th as interesting

he's not much of an mc, but in the same way the italians do it better stable aren't much on singing. i think cudi almost has as much in common with them as with any particular kind of hip-hop. could totally hear him on a glass candy track.

i dunno dude -- i'm 808s hater #1 but i'll give some songs their props including "Welcome To Heartbreak." "Day N Nite" is annoying to me in part for the same reason I hate "If I Were A Boy" or that new Green Day single, just the total unchanging monotony of the melody from verse to chorus to verse makes for shitty radio songs.

nah, that's part of the appeal, the insta-hypnosis you get when you hear it. i mean, it's a stoner beat, says so right there in the chorus.

i like it plenty, but i'm sorta glad i left the states before i heard it 12,000 too many times, it WAS sorta on the radio every 15 minutes or so when i left. i figure that's probably the real, underlying reason for the ilm hate on this song - it's really a cool little track that just sorta earwormed it's way into heavy rotation

"you hate this because it's popular and on the radio a lot" is a weak argument unless you someone actually hates every hit song ever

well i mean i'm willing to admit it might not really stand up to a zillion replays as well as, say, a classic beyonce track or beatles track or something. but since i haven't been forced to overhear it yet i still have some fondness for it

yeah...i didn't like it on first listen but i could see it being better before the repetition sets in.

having just done one of my periodic listening-to-every-song-on-the-top-40 sweeps gave me added appreciation for the track, because it really doesn't sound like anything else on the chart. that's not an inherent virtue, but it did sorta stand out.

(and granted, being better than "hoedown throwdown" and "boom boom pow" is not much of an achievement.)
