Tom Wolfe Quote: "all manner of tuners, amplifiers, receivers, loudspeakers, microphones, cartridges, tapes, theater horns, booms, lights, turntables, instruments, mixers, muters, servile mesochroics, whatever was on the market. The sound went down so many microphones and hooked through so many mixers and variable lags and blew up in so many amplifiers and rolled around in so many speakers and fed back down so many microphones, it came on like a chemical refinery."

since you've actually managed to get me interested in a release by the fucking antichrist grateful dead, are these available somewhere? preferably without becoming part of a tape/cdr tree or having to see/talk to/smell any hippies?

your null fame, Wednesday, 5 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yes. i have it on a cd called "birth of the dead" that my pavement obsessed indie friends gave me. it light years away from the jammy jam hippie shit man.

chaki, Wednesday, 5 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hmm. is this a boot? i've been able to find next to no info about this on the web, but maybe i'm an idiot. if this 42 minute mp3 file is from those sessions, it is indeed surprisingly nice; there is some irritating spoken word, and some irritating superclean bluesy stuff, but the last half is great...heartbeats, tapes, weird reeds...

your null fame, Thursday, 6 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yah what you found was a "acid test" documentary kinda boot thing with tom wolfe talking i believe?! the super clean blusey stuff = ick, but the rest is what im talking about! the cd i have is an official release from "Scorpio" records.

chaki, Thursday, 6 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)
