I'm gonna have to go with the Mad Magazine-style first album unless someone can convince me otherwise

merriweather post ironic (Whiney G. Weingarten), Tuesday, 6 January 2009 14:39 (seventeen years ago)

Straight Outta Lynwood is def the worst, and Alapalooza the laziest.

"Polka Party" for sure, it's like my freshmen year of college (started as Al, ended up in the bathroom)

Whiney OTM (although Bad Hair Day is pretty lazy too). 1st is best overall, Off The Deep End is the best parody of a famous artist/album cover, but I'm voting for this because it cracks me up:

some dude, Tuesday, 6 January 2009 15:23 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, i just realized he has TWO album covers where the joke is "lol white dude appropriating black culture!"

merriweather post ironic (Whiney G. Weingarten), Tuesday, 6 January 2009 15:28 (seventeen years ago)

Even Worse and Bad Hair Day are about specific artists, more than black culture as a whole.

I meant this

tough choice between these two:

They keep getting worse post-Off The Deep End.

Good single cover:

Ahhhh, it's totally the first one, I love having lots of little stuff to find.

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 6 January 2009 16:46 (seventeen years ago)

i like that the single's in the PUSA font, nice touch

three henny opera (Curt1s Stephens), Tuesday, 6 January 2009 18:35 (seventeen years ago)

I owned In-3D on vinyl.

өөө (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 6 January 2009 18:49 (seventeen years ago)

I was disappointed that all the songs weren't parody songs.

өөө (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 6 January 2009 18:49 (seventeen years ago)

Oh, come on, "Mr. Popeil" and "Nature Trail to Hell"?

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 6 January 2009 19:01 (seventeen years ago)

poodle hat no doubt

jordan s (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 6 January 2009 19:02 (seventeen years ago)

I've never seen that debut cover before! (I'm assuming it's the debut.) Was that drawn by Jack Davis?

Myonga Vön Bontee, Tuesday, 6 January 2009 19:03 (seventeen years ago)

Even Worse parodies the TWO Shondells covers that reached the top of the charts in the US!

"Even Worse", for parodying the entire "Bad" package with cover, inner cover, lyric sheet and all.

He later did the same with "Nevermind" on "Off The Deep End", but "Even Worse" remains the original.

Geir Hongro, Tuesday, 6 January 2009 23:41 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah I vote even worse too just because the album title is so mf ruthlessly sardonic --- that was some shit in target as a kid to see both of those records on the top ten rack at once ----

Weird al is incredible man. I'd say his anything you like parody is the second time he's topped the original song ---- first being smells like nirvana

reacher, Wednesday, 7 January 2009 04:23 (seventeen years ago)

Sorry whatever you like

reacher, Wednesday, 7 January 2009 04:25 (seventeen years ago)

I remember being eight years old, the proud owner of cassettes of both 'Bad' and 'Even Worse,' and putting them next to one another marveling at the attention to detail. Weird Al taught me everything I know about satire.

Devastated to see that his second best cover ("Off The Deep End") received zero votes.

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 21 January 2009 14:31 (seventeen years ago)

I was the only vote for s/t?

8. Opeth - Watershed (Whiney G. Weingarten), Wednesday, 21 January 2009 14:47 (seventeen years ago)

s/t is definitely best but i was in the tank for Poodle Hat
