Aw, the McLennan songs are crazy pretty, even if they're make-it-rhymes. Still, I'm voting for

That's how I feel about McLennan's rhymes on this album.

I remember Surfing Magazines was pretty big at the time. For a Gobe-Tweens song anyway.

"Going Blind" is the only song I know from this, which is fine.

"The Clock" for me. It's almost always on my playlists.

Bizarrely, this is the only Go-Betweens album I don't currently own. I used to have a taped copy of it, but that seems to have disappeared. I'll have to buy it. I voted for "He Lives My Life" -- really nice, hauntingly beautiful tune that I can't imagine anyone but Robert Forster writing. I saw Grant & Robert play this one in NYC on their first reunion duo tour in 1999, right before they officially got the band back together. A high point from one of the better shows I've ever seen ...

You HAVE to get it!

Just thinking about this album the other day, such a great set of songs.

It's ten years in May since we lost Grant.

waiting and waiting for these later albums to get reissued to no avail. listening to a fan upload right now on youtube ―my first ever listen― and just... man, grant mclennan! the whole thing is panning out to be great, but to hear something so instantly classic like "heart and home" or "the clock" is an instant, and potent, reminder of how good he was. i love this band.

I guess the three comprehensive and expensive box sets that encompass their entire career are never going to be broken out into individual album reissues/remasters?
