The first poll is basically consisting of mostly either Peter Waterman or Mike Stock/Matt Aitken productions as they didn't really become a threesome until late 1985.

Only including singles that were actually hits.

Pretty sure "You Spin Me Round" will walk this, but personally I like "In Too Deep" and "My Heart Goes Bang" much more. Voted "In Too Deep".

Love "Lover Come Back" but "You Spin Me Round" is too perfect to not vote for

But but but... all three names are equally credited on the Divine, Dead Or Alive and Hazell Dean singles, at the very least. And I was certainly aware of them as a production trio by late 1984.

Apparently, they were working for Waterman, but still separately. "Whatever I Do" was produced by Mike Stock and Matt Aitken.

A look at the Wikipedia article for the team btw. tells a fact I wasn't aware of - that the first ever S/A/W production was Cyprus' 1984 entry for Eurovision Song Contest :)

It's not like SAW's history isn't somewhat contentious re: who produced what.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock_Aitken_Waterman also gives a hit about the importance of Phil Harding on the sound usually associated with the three.
