It's Jo & Danny - Classic or Dud

Are It's Jo & Danny any good? They're playing here in Dublin in two week's time and I'm wondering whether to go. I've read good reviews of them, but I've never heard anything by them.

In their favour they have two names seperated by "&" in their name, so they're probably a bit like Belle & Sebastian.

What do YOU think?

I've only heard one song of theirs called "Love expression" and it was pretty good. Chilled, lush sounding acoustic kinda thing with trip-hop beats. They dont sound anything like B&S either.

I used to think that 'Lank Haired Girl To Bearded Boy' was the worst name for an album I'd heard in ages. I still think the Lank-Haired Girl bit is somewhat rough.

They do what it says on the tin, really. It's a couple of indie kids singing songs to each other. Not for me but if you like that kind of thing who on Earth am I to say otherwise?

I know, Gareth...honestly its better than I made it sound.

MMmmmm, Tom's making them sound kind of brilliant. I'm there!

I saw them live, expecting quite good things. They sounded a bit like Fleetwood Mac, but possibly not as interesting.

Well, I took the plunge and went to see them last night. They were very enjoyable, kind of as you say acoustic guitars (sometimes electric) over washes of electronic stuff.

Hardly anyone came to see them though. Dublin is dead.

these guys were good but the yellow moon band album is the jewel in their crown

Yeah. Totally... one of my favourite albums of this year.
