High point of Saigon's career: least impressive YouTube beatdown in history on Prodigy.
High point of Papoose career: having a stupid name

The boy with the Arab money (The stickman from the hilarious 'xkcd' comics), Saturday, 10 January 2009 14:43 (sixteen years ago)

important rap feud

ice cr?m, Saturday, 10 January 2009 15:03 (sixteen years ago)

fuck yall i know ima come off like l-jag gettin hurt in the butt over dudes clowning blur vs muse or some ish but these are both dope rappers with 2-3 albums worth of better material than 90% of rappers out there doin it - i dont get really whats so lolarious about making the same joke over + over just cuz saigon's trey songz joint flopped and pap doesnt always rap on beat lol

2 classics

papoose & prodigy - the drama

saigon - out there

and what, Saturday, 10 January 2009 15:29 (sixteen years ago)

a few weeks ago I probably would've laid off Saigon because yeah making fun of his album delays is getting kinda old...but he just announced that he's going to "single-handedly reinvent hip-hop" right after dropping an AutoTune single.

some dude, Saturday, 10 January 2009 16:47 (sixteen years ago)

both good rappers. but both dont have many great/memorable songs. saigon used to seem like a 50/krs hybrid to me and i liked that first single just blaze produced from the album but these guys just release way too much. and the hype spewing out from papooses mouth in every interview is a bit silly at this point. good freestyle over criminology tho.

titchy (titchyschneiderMk2), Saturday, 10 January 2009 16:57 (sixteen years ago)

again who gives 2 shits about saigons wack radio moves you could do a triple album of certified dope saigon trax but yall waste time talkin shit and trading plies youtubes fukk that

and what, Saturday, 10 January 2009 18:40 (sixteen years ago)

of course you know i like both these corny ass dude a whole bunch. but overall i think saigon is a better, more on point rapper than papoose...like i really dug some of the pap mixtape stuff in yeah about 2004, but shit Saigon's first 12 inch alone makes him a classic in my book, that shit is way old by now and everything but yeah he's nice IMO.

ie: BANGING (M@tt He1ges0n), Saturday, 10 January 2009 23:52 (sixteen years ago)

saigon

you down with challo.p.p.? (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 10 January 2009 23:56 (sixteen years ago)

i've never even heard saigon because i hate papoose so much

FUTURE HOOS: stronger better faster hooser (BIG HOOS aka the steendriver), Saturday, 10 January 2009 23:58 (sixteen years ago)

so i voted saigon

FUTURE HOOS: stronger better faster hooser (BIG HOOS aka the steendriver), Saturday, 10 January 2009 23:58 (sixteen years ago)

haha

you down with challo.p.p.? (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 10 January 2009 23:58 (sixteen years ago)

i like tracks by both of them & theres a papoose mixtape ive played out but i its also perfectly fine to clown these dudes for hyping themselves into nothingness and not dropping actual records

xhuxk d (deej), Saturday, 10 January 2009 23:59 (sixteen years ago)

which did less to boost a career? saigon appearing reoccurring role on entourage or papoose marrying remy ma?

you down with challo.p.p.? (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 10 January 2009 23:59 (sixteen years ago)

yeah i think at this point they'd be a little humble or cynical

you down with challo.p.p.? (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 11 January 2009 00:00 (sixteen years ago)

a rapper engaging in hyperbole about his own skills and/or importance in the world of hip hop? my stars!

ie: BANGING (M@tt He1ges0n), Sunday, 11 January 2009 00:00 (sixteen years ago)

next thing you know they'll be flaunting their newfound cash in a hopelessly tacky way!

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Sunday, 11 January 2009 00:01 (sixteen years ago)

i dunno saigon can flat out rhyme IMO, and if i ever comes out with all the just blaze beats i will still be excited about it

ie: BANGING (M@tt He1ges0n), Sunday, 11 January 2009 00:02 (sixteen years ago)

papoose i've cooled on since his early stuff cuz he actually seemed to go backwards as a rapper IMO, like his flow managed to get sloppier if that was possible

ie: BANGING (M@tt He1ges0n), Sunday, 11 January 2009 00:03 (sixteen years ago)

I got amped about Papoose when I heard his verse on "Touch It" before I realized he recycled it 1000000x

FUTURE HOOS: stronger better faster hooser (BIG HOOS aka the steendriver), Sunday, 11 January 2009 00:05 (sixteen years ago)

yeah on that it was cool how he divided it in two section a regular speed then a double speed flow

ie: BANGING (M@tt He1ges0n), Sunday, 11 January 2009 00:15 (sixteen years ago)

I like the Saigon I've heard. Papoose sounds like he's constantly grasping at straws.

Et tu, Crut? (The Reverend), Sunday, 11 January 2009 00:17 (sixteen years ago)

i think my problem w/ papoose is the way hes rapping sounds rugged as fuck but lyrically hes so hit or miss that saying certain shit in an especially rugged way does not necessarily mean its going to actually be rugged

why is budden goin at saigon

and what, Friday, 16 January 2009 04:12 (sixteen years ago)

i don't even know, i tried to search for info on that and all i found was dudes talking about how fab fucked budden's chick.

some dude, Friday, 16 January 2009 04:24 (sixteen years ago)

also srs question ethan -- do you think that saigon and/or papoose are the best or among the best semi-mainstream NYC rappers to have emerged in their era (which let's say is '04 to present, post-50, etc.)? i'm not even sure who i'd say, but i feel like it would have to be someone other than those guys.

some dude, Friday, 16 January 2009 04:25 (sixteen years ago)

budden builds blogging buzz with beef

xhuxk d (deej), Friday, 16 January 2009 04:25 (sixteen years ago)

lol york

xhuxk d (deej), Friday, 16 January 2009 04:26 (sixteen years ago)

Budden is really the saddest motherfucker in rap, finally left Def Jam and still gets his pushed back constantly, makes club singles that sound just like the shit he was doing in '03, mopes around with a "coulda been a contender" frown all the time, has lots of loyal internet stans but can't even get Clipse-level media fawning

Also has Brooklyn tatted on that finger, he is from Brooklyn also and the index/trigger finger is the main finger so Brooklyn is his main place to be

for clarification that's a new hot97 interview where he reveals himself to have the most stereotypical ny rapper mindset ever

not sure how to post embeddeds so yeah

Diddy-Drugs A. Money (some dude), Thursday, 28 March 2013 19:09 (twelve years ago)

man seriously that was the most aggravating interview i've ever seen

ums (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 28 March 2013 19:14 (twelve years ago)

mild stanning for papoose is the single most embarassing of the 20,000 embarrassing opinions i've posted on ILX

papoose saying "i'm into extreme lyricists" is so terrifying, it sounds incredibly fetishistic

A$AP Rovi (J0rdan S.), Friday, 29 March 2013 05:37 (twelve years ago)

i like how he acts offended that some people pronounce "nacirema" with a hard C like, y'know, the hard C in "american"

A$AP Rovi (J0rdan S.), Friday, 29 March 2013 05:44 (twelve years ago)

this interview is like an intervention, they have 3 interviewers who are all like trying to make papoose admit his flaws

Diddy-Drugs A. Money (some dude), Friday, 29 March 2013 05:45 (twelve years ago)

now cipha sounds mentions he's a 5 percenter and papoose goes "no, he's a jew"

Diddy-Drugs A. Money (some dude), Friday, 29 March 2013 05:47 (twelve years ago)

i like how you can tell they were trying not to hurt his feelings cuz no one was like "well about this flaw: you've never had a hit single and your album was pushed back SEVEN YEARS"

A$AP Rovi (J0rdan S.), Friday, 29 March 2013 05:47 (twelve years ago)

someone should have been like "dude you don't even have the top wikipedia entry for 'papoose' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papoose";

Pointless side note: I work for F3nd3r guitars and we own Tac0ma guitars and they make a mini guitar called the Papoose. It's pretty much the one instrument they are known for making:
