There was a small bit of yak about them on one of the Grizzly Bear threads, but they don't have a thread of their own. Anyway, picked up IEP yesterday and am liking it - "Balmy Night" in particular, the chord changes of which I have a pretty major crush on.

i quite liked their previous album on melodic, but i found this one a bit disappointing. the single 'no one does it like you' is the best thing on it, and it's pretty good.. the rest wasn't quite so exciting.

I'm liking this album so far- better than Yellow House to me at this point...

great album. in ear park, around the bay, floating on the lehigh, and balmy night are beautiful tracks. seems more succinct (though it's not very comparable) than yellow house and far more developed than their older material.

The only thing annoying me about it so far is the occasional refusal to repeat good hooks. "Balmy Night" really deserves a second verse and chorus, "No one does it like you" similarly.

seven months pass...

An album perhaps forgotten in the blood-drenched Veckatimest wars, but listening to it now for the first time in a while, it is still very fine indeed.

einh, it kind of lost its charm for me. it's like i don't mind john lennon's solo albums because i can listen to the guy's voice for hours, but paul on the other hand sure sometimes the tunes are good but it gets to be too much pretty quick. kinda feel the say way about this album.

surprised there's no talk of rossen's recent ep.. gorgeous set of songs, it is.
