The name, of course, is fantastic

but what of the records? i haven't heard anything out of this stable yet...

I only know as a front for Andy Weatherall and Two Lone Swordsmen. Personally I love "Stay Down" as a mood album. I think some of the Tiny Reminders stuff is fantastic but I tend not to listen to the whole album. Virus with Shoes I found disappointing.

Don't know anything else.

the labels getting off the ground now it seems though, saw a compilation and a few other things, other people involved too now?

What you need to do is play Uranium by Radioactive Man (from self-titled album, RGCCD001) really loud and see if your windows stay in its fittings.

I'm not terribly enthused by the "Machine Funk" direction Weatherall is taking. A lot of it sounds like ghetto-tech, AUX 88 style, pitched up too fast and with deliberately annoying sounds in the mix (distance-miked drum samples, farty synths, wacky vocals). Perfectly good stuff deliberately enfeebled by experimental/intellectual impulse, not half wacky enough compared to real ghetto-tech blah blah blah. Radioactive Man makes ye olde Nu Skool Breakz, so proceed w/ caution. Check Haywire for their DJ mixes, I think that might be the most cost-effective and painless way to find out.

Yeah and specifically AVOID Klart at all costs, he skids off the stupid/brilliant fence deep into stupid territory.

Agreed. Klart is total pants. But practically everything so far released by Radioactive Man (Keith Tenniswood) is too ace for words. The latest single was okay but everyone should own a copy of the first album (especially "Urianium"). Looking forward to the new mix albums/eps by Tenniswood and Weatherall tha should be out soon.

The new Dot Allison I believe is produced by Tenniswood, although I found it a bit wishy-washy in places...

That big rattling sounding sample on "Uranium" kills me. It sounds like someone playing bass with a malfunctioning garage door opener. Pretty cool.

i found the radioactive man lp very boring/disappointing. the local 'beats and breaks' promoter (who runs a whole nite off nu skool breaks) came into the shop where i was listening to this, and said, eh this sounds good. i should have known then not to buy it.

er...anyone want to buy the radioactive man lp? 8 quid and its yrs.
