One of the first semi final's two winners was "Tricky" by Velvet, which I suppose may be an ILM favourite if it makes it all the way:

OK, so we finally picked our entry, and it was an unusually strong entry from us that actually got about 75 per cent of the total votes in the last leg (4 entries) of the final.

Here is the final leg in full - Alexander Rybak's winning entry is the third one out.

I am pretty sure they love the fact that he was born in Belarus and speaks fluent Russian.

whats everyone's thoughts on mgp so far? i always root for the norwegian-language entries, but this year it looks like margaret berger's entry has a good chance:

also some entries going through are pretty ridiculous, like the symphonic black metal and rockabilly entries last semifinal. hard to tell still though, as the list of artists in the next semifinal aren't released until wednesday, so who knows

Should we just start a Eurovision 2013 thread and fold in the national selections there? I haven't been paying a lot of attention so far, but I am very excited about the San Marino goes C-Pop rumours...
