I see you snotty nosed kids have taken to dissing Pearl Jam. While I lie in "true bliss" (nz only) with Eddie you lot can exorcise that guilt in the most "hip way" I can think of, enjoy!

I present to you the "offical popstars" guide...

The official Popstars songs

Everyone who auditions for Popstars must sing one of these songs for the judges, so get practising!

Whole Again - Atomic Kitten,

Too Close - Blue,

It's Rainin' Men - Geri Halliwell,

Can't Get You Out Of My Head - Kylie Minogue,

I Believe I Can Fly - R Kelly,

I Wanna Know - Joe,

U Touch Me - Dawnay,

How the Popstars auditions will work

Auditions are open to guys and girls aged 18 to 29.

Auditions are open to vocalists only.

Auditions will be held over two days at each venue. The first 1 000 applicants on each day are guaranteed an audition by the judges.

Registration at each audition starts at 8:00 am. Everyone will be fully briefed on the audition process. There will be translators where regionallanguages apply.

All entrants must complete a registration form before they will be allowed into the audition room.

Once they've registered, auditionees will be directed to a holding area where they will wait until their audition number is called.

Auditions begin at 9:00am.

Auditionees will receive a stamp to secure and confirm their allotted audition slot.

Audition numbers will be called in groups of five. Each person will sing individually for the judges. Everyone must sing a portion of one of the seven listed songs - and must do so unaccompanied.

Each group of five will go to a waiting area while the judges confer and decide who, if any, will be recalled.

Those who are selected by the judges will be briefed about their callbacks.

The "nz only" insert clearly proves that the above isn't me. As does the absence of a deliberately ironic musical selection to add to such a list, e.g. Diamanda Galas' Wild Women With Steak Knives.

Marcello "True Bliss" refers to the first "popstars" group ever made- utterly hideous and not a matter of taste, no "bubble gum guilt" here just not hip enough to have to listen to crap to be cooouuullll. Yes we here in NZ were unfortunately responsible for the "international phenomenom" that is "tv popstars". I resisted the obvious temptation to add a few songs to your practice list as it was an actual news article from the Sunday Times paper in South Africa. You have to draw the line somewhere and lets start with ABBA, Id rather listen to the Telletubbies and if you knew what was good for you...

will always fondly remember being in our price gatwick the day after the sampdoria vs barca european cup final and that track coming out of the shops speakers and around 15-20 samp fans dancing around roaring with delight.

xp

I love how inclusive the video is. A bunch of grebos from the Midlands in Newcastle tops singing in Italian and dancing in front of various world flags

Also "football pianos" is so a thing. I wrote a little instrumental track a while ago with those kinds of chord sin it and everyone said it sounded like football
