You found out...

'Circles' is one of my all time favourite records so that gets my vote. I didn't think I knew The Jets but I checked 'Crush on You' on Youtube and it all came back to me. Good, but that 86-88 sound tends to be a bit too brash-sounding for my taste.

Went with "Circles." Too bad "When Love Calls" and "Silver Shadow" aren't on there. (Not that I'd want to hear re-recordings of ANY of them.)

Wow, that's neat! I never knew they had records out as far back as 1982.

I was telling a friend the other day that Atlantic Starr released not one good song.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Monday, 26 January 2009 20:53 (seventeen years ago)

i used to get atlantic and midnight starr confused all the time around 1983

Atlantic Starr are pretty damn good in my opinion. My only criticism is that lyrically they spill over too far into sappiness, mainly on the ballads of course. As mentioned previously, 'Silver Shadow' is an amazing track. I could listen to the mesh of keyboards and rhythm guitar on endless loop. 'Love Me Down' is something of a mid tempo re-write of 'Circles' (or maybe 'Circles' is a disco-fied re-write of 'Circles', I don't know) but, whatever, also a great one.

Ha, I own the Jets with Ready for the World as a "back to back" comp!

(Went with "Masterpiece" here, just cuz I think it deserves at least one vote. Jets would have won if "I Do U" were here.)

"You got it all over him" is such a great line.

i like all these but i think i'd take any jet song over any atlantic starr song i see right there

Why We Sag (tremendoid), Friday, 13 February 2009 07:32 (seventeen years ago)

shalamar would be a more fair fight

Try 1978!

I was telling a friend the other day that Atlantic Starr released not one good song.

I could fill out a CD, no problem. Not much past '83 or so, though.

Try 1978!

Yikes! Were they disco back then?

nine years pass...

Just heard "If Your Heart Isn't in It," that is a quiet storm JAM

Shalamar vs. any 80s R&B group other than DeBarge isn't a fair fight
