You got (to) love Technique

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 28 January 2009 00:39 (seventeen years ago)

But I'll vote for Dream Attack again.

Vanishing Point

Pillboxxx/The Lol Belol (Pillbox), Wednesday, 28 January 2009 00:40 (seventeen years ago)

Um, all of them?

My one time seeing NO -- this tour, spring 1989.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 28 January 2009 00:41 (seventeen years ago)

they're all good - soft spot for 'run' even though the lyrics are bad and bernie's singing seems a bit off - I'll vote that, but I'll kick myself later for not voting for 'dream attack' or 'vanishing point'

this was my one time seeing them live too - my soph yr of college, in some goddawful shed outside of chicago that was owned by sears roebuck at the time - the boots I've heard sound like the PA was the equivalent of a sears roebuck geetar amp ... it was the tour with sugarcubes and PIL - both bands seemed to put forth more effort. Perhaps NO were peeved by the local curfew and sound ordinances that seemed to be in effect - they played all of 35 minutes and there were some major pissed off, coked up yuppies around our seats.

"I can't see the sense in you leaving" is a great lyric. It's a very Northern appeal to common sense. "Don't leave me, not because you'll break my heart but because it's daft.". This and most of Republic he was writing decent lyrics. What happened?

It helps to have something to write about. Technique was Sumner's divorce record, wasn't it?
