Yes, well actually, John Lennon was a dick. The other Beatles were OK.I love the Beatles music, but John Lennon was a nasty motherfucker. He beat a few people to death, including his unborn child by Yoko Ono(Bitch had so many abortions it wasn't even funny, then gave one away, had another one which she neglected badly). Before they had Sean she was pregnant with John Ono Lennon II, but he beat her, and she lost the baby. At the hospital John used a stethoscopic microphone to record the baby's last heartbeats, which you can hear on Life With the Lions. He treated everyone in his life life shit. The strange book "Turn Me On, Dead Man" postulates that Paul was dead because of a Satanic pact making them the most popular band of all time. This pact also required them to give up one member (Paul). He also says John and Yoko can be seen at the Manson trial.

Oh yeah, The Lives of John Lennon, too, as mentioned above. An odd chapter about how Yoko tried to purify John through some witchcraft rituals??? It is a superdramatic book.

Yes, extremely superdramatic. I am about 3/4 of the way through it and I feel emotionally exhausted every time I get done reading it for a while. For an EXTREMELY Inspiring and Uplifting yet gritty and earthy read I highly recommend the 1997 Johnny Cash autobiography written with Patrick Carr. You'll be laughing and crying, and really liking the guy. He loves God alot, but screwed up alot too.

Albert Goldman was a very sad little man who got off pissing all over anyone who made good. Essentially, an overglorified tabloid reporter who had nothing but spite for the human race. He was exceptionally cruel to Elvis and Lennon, and it quickly became clear that everything he wrote was created whole cloth. He might have been right about Lennons anorexia and Elvis's sexual peccadillos, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

yeah but, even if yoko ono wasn't beaten up, and to me it is VERY IMPORTANT to find out whether she was or not, because it is ESSENTIAL that that be well known and not a secret - so if anyone knows more, please say, - even if she wasn't beaten up, i saw the movie "imagine" and was HORRIFIED to see this woman i liked and had thought of as probably quite tough (just from her music) - and i liked her because up to that point i thought she was Janice Joplin ugly, having only seen her hair and a bit of her face - wearing knee high boots and hot pants and tight tops serving TEA to the men and being ignored and treated like a bimbo. And her voice: so simpering! She seemed like she had been beaten up to me - did all women act like that before the seventies?

well the sam phillips "nigger" quote was certainly made up: ie he had NO SOURCE for it, and when every possible source said "he couldn't have said that", the response was "well they would say that" => his method is to zero in on volatile confused situations anyway, seek out tendentious — often second or thirdhand — reports, consistently interpet in a particular direction, so that they all "support" one another, and then throw critics on the defensive by implying that they are stooges of the industry or wide-eyed fans for imagining things cd be otherwise

i've no doubt lennon behaved incredibly horribly to all sorts of people at various times, inc.very possibly yoko, but i just completely don't trust GOLDMAN to report any of this fairly or truthfully

Well, I have no doubt that much of it is made up, but I have heard from several sources, and John Lennon said it himself that he was a violent man and did not wish to be. The song "Its Getting Better(All the Time) is a reflection of that and addresses that issue.

Poor old Yoko. She was the only good thing about the beatles. I can't stand the badne m'self, but then I reckon the easybeats would have eclipsed them if they had been poms. Anyway, yoko was an interesting and forward thinking artist, part of the Fluxus movement who had a career that was going just fine before she met Lennon. the comments about her getting abortins and such, well, maybe they are true, but you really are going to need some genuine proof before you say such nasty things about a very clever and interesting woman who has had a very unfortunate life and still keeps going. i admire yoko. part of the reason i admire her has nothing to do withe the beatles at all.
