"100 Reasons To Be Sad"

Downloaded this thanx to the fine folks at boomselector and though it doesn't have as many "holy shit" moments as "Intro-Introspection" it's at least on par as far as a marathon bootleg of death goes. Any thoughts?

And more importantly, how about some song IDs? I caught Kraftwerk's "Spacelab" and Wire's "The 15th" and Fantastic Plastic Machine's "Fantastic Plastic World" in there (and even some Steve Miller Band [!!!]), but there's a ton of songs that sound both unfamiliar and awesome to me and I gotta look into some of this stuff.

Belle and Sebastian and Busta Rhymes sharing the same song space has to be applauded. A bit less pop than "Introspection", and it suffers from it, sounds too noodly. Still, a great track nonetheless, and if it means we're getting more of these soundscapey things, i'm all for it.

I got these

Magnetic Fields - Chicken with its head cut off and Fido your Leash is too long
Fine Young Cannibals - She Drives Me Crazy
Roy Orbison - Only the Lonely
Beach Boys -
New Order - BLT?
Nick Lowe - Cruel to be Kind
Kraftwerk - ?
Elton John and Kiki Dee - Don't Go Breakin My Heart

and I think some Depeche Mode too. Some of them have been sped up or pitch shifted.

Other things I spotted: Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire", ABBA's "Winner Takes All", Michael Jackson's "Beat It", Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence", So Solid Crew's "21 Seconds", something that I think is probably Stereolab, possibly Aphex Twin's "Digeridoo", My Bloody Valentine's "Only Shallow", Madonna's "Into the Groove", Hot Butter's "Popcorn", Kraftwerk's "The Model" and "Tour De France", and Console's "14 Zero Zero".

Damn, this is fun!

Ah. Well, I probably would've noticed it a lot quicker if you'd mentioned it in the topic header or something. ;) At least it's not another Andrew WK thread.

ILM's indie guilt becomes obvious, as they fail to spot "The Stars of Track and Field" by Belle and Sebastian.

Dom Passantino, Sunday, 9 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Um... because *you* did on the second reply.

(THIS JUST IN! ILM DID NOT PRODUCE ANY THREADS ABOUT THE FIELD MICE THIS WEEK! RAMPANT INDIE GUILT CITED AS PROBABLE CAUSE!!!)

We didn't mention Busta Rhymes, either. Jiggy guilt?
