so far we have this incredible remix of q-tip's "renaissance rap" ft busta, rae and wayne
http://www.zshare.net/audio/548384655603ced6
and this not very good remix of the-dream's "rockin that shit" ft the cabal of fabolous, juelz, rick ross (uh) and ludacris
http://sharebee.com/66f71968
― jordy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 January 2009 18:17 (seventeen years ago)
srsly the "renaissance rap" remix is 10/10
― jordy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 January 2009 18:19 (seventeen years ago)
where the fuck does rae exist in 2009? last year dude was on joints by outkast, the game and ill bill - this year its q-tip, ____ and ____??

yeah idk... i guess cuban linx 2 is supposed to drop but i'm sure it's still got a nevurary 32nd date. i like that dude is selective and kinda random
― jordy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 January 2009 18:25 (seventeen years ago)
lol cool
here's what i know of that's been out in the last few weeks"My President" rmx w/ Jaybobby v. f/ lol wayne and lol kimthat slim/ryan leslie joint with bow wow and jd on itapparently fabolous is on the official "lions, tigers & bears" remix, which sounds hilarious, i gotta hear that
i'm still mad that the "green light" remix with swizz and t.i. that john legend was talking about months and months ago has not surfaced even now
― some dude, Friday, 30 January 2009 18:27 (seventeen years ago)
oh yeah "my president" duh - i actually think that's the best verse jay's had in like 2 years
― jordy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 January 2009 18:30 (seventeen years ago)
xp yeah i get that the kast joint was an attempt at skew it on the bar-b 2 and the game & ill bill are both lol rap nerds love wu-tang but between the whole RAE IS SIGNED TO AFTERMATH DRE AND 50 ARE EXEC PRODUCING CL2 hype and dude crewin with supernatural and prince po i dunno where dude fits
― and what, Friday, 30 January 2009 18:33 (seventeen years ago)
hrm i dunno, wasn't really feeling it myself...plus the best thing about "my president" is that it's just another ignorant jeezy anthem that happens to be called "my president," not the kind of generic 'inspiring' obama song that jay tries to turn it into.
― some dude, Friday, 30 January 2009 18:33 (seventeen years ago)
yeah i think you're right about the 'ignorance' part of "my president" but even out of context it reads as jay's best verse in forever i think
― jordy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 January 2009 18:38 (seventeen years ago)
it’s the tarzan cocaine clan in the areagorillas in louie hats, the more the merrier”

i love "rockin that shit"...I need a primer on post LoveHate the-dream joints cuz I been sleeping
― The eMo City Don (surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally), Friday, 30 January 2009 20:38 (seventeen years ago)
*rolling my damn eyes*
"rockin that shit" original is incredible but the rmx is as unnecessary as unnecessary gets
okay so post love/hate solo jams we got:
"rockin that shit""right side of your brain" which is awesome kind of like a kid brother to "cry me a river""my love" ft. mariah carey which is the best pop song out of the three, totally warm and sweet
― jordy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 January 2009 20:40 (seventeen years ago)
check the love/hate thread for the last few months it's only been new dream talk (mostly me but i link to mp3s in there)
― jordy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 January 2009 20:41 (seventeen years ago)
dude it's "Def Jam all-stars" that's why it's necessary
― The eMo City Don (surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally), Friday, 30 January 2009 20:42 (seventeen years ago)
lol juelz is mad lazy.
― The eMo City Don (surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally), Friday, 30 January 2009 20:44 (seventeen years ago)
jordan did the garbage lil jon track that was the 'lead single' for like a week disappear from your memory already?
― some dude, Friday, 30 January 2009 20:45 (seventeen years ago)
haha i guess so - that song's dope imo
― jordy (J0rdan S.), Friday, 30 January 2009 20:45 (seventeen years ago)
whatchu think of "rockin that shit" al
it's very very catchy...surprising that everywhere says it was produced by Tricky, because it has that whole Los Da Mystro-type swinging groove with the flanged drums, but either way, nice production...although that barely there chorus where the most evocative line is a shrugged "there's nothing I can say" once again makes me wonder why this guy is a highly paid songwriter.
― some dude, Friday, 30 January 2009 20:53 (seventeen years ago)
basically i'm far from ready to join the ILM the-dream superfan all-stars, but i'm totally willing to give the 2nd album a chance if it promises to be more Fast Car/Shawty Is A 10 and less Nikki/Falsetto
― some dude, Friday, 30 January 2009 21:01 (seventeen years ago)
you should check the mariah one, way more in the former camp

― The Reverend, Saturday, 31 January 2009 03:25 (seventeen years ago)
Q-Tip is just as zzzzzz as he has been lately on the "Renaissance Rap" rmx, but Busta, Rae, & Wayne are XD XD XD

you mean i "just don't like" the-dream ballads, not ballads in general or R&B ballads in general, right? because that would be a really stupid conclusion to arrive at based on my post.
― some dude, Saturday, 31 January 2009 14:21 (seventeen years ago)
i don't even remember what this CNN track w/ ron browz sounded like but the predictable swizz/jada/busta remix is pretty decent, if only because it has a verse from jada and busta 3.0

― suggban stevens (J0rdan S.), Monday, 23 February 2009 19:59 (seventeen years ago)
that's like the only nu-Browz song i fuck with, looking forward to hearing Kiss on it
― pour some suggban on me (some dude), Monday, 23 February 2009 20:00 (seventeen years ago)
yeah the beat is pretty late 90s ny so it's different than his more recent stuff. it's got those needly synths like "all about the benjamins"

yung joc is def one of the most underrated girls/sex rappers
― oj da hoosman (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 21 May 2009 08:04 (sixteen years ago)
"Swag Surfin'" has a nice beat but i'm gonna avoid until the inevitable remix w/ some decent rappers (or at least anybody not going "my hat matches my baaaaaaaaaag" over and over)

maybach music 2 rmx ft fab, pusha t and... birdman
http://www.zshare.net/audio/63017809c62838b5/
i would've liked to hear a "one blood" style 15 min, 35 rapper rmx over this beat and instead we get... pusha t, fabolous & birdman \(o_O)/
― igloo-fifty-four-quart-sports-ice-chest.jpg (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 23 July 2009 00:36 (sixteen years ago)

i love remixes that are totally different from the OG... glad they're making a comeback, I'm so over those lame ass "posse cut" remixes with a million different corny rappers on them
― The Brainwasher, Thursday, 23 July 2009 00:38 (sixteen years ago)
fab is one rapper where i don't mind when his guest verses are crushingly topical because he usually brings the lols
― igloo-fifty-four-quart-sports-ice-chest.jpg (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 23 July 2009 00:39 (sixteen years ago)
that beat is so sick
― igloo-fifty-four-quart-sports-ice-chest.jpg (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 23 July 2009 00:41 (sixteen years ago)
fabolous is probably my favorite rapper if I had to choose
― The Brainwasher, Thursday, 23 July 2009 00:42 (sixteen years ago)
and yeah it totally is, "fancy" is going to be sampled a lot
If someone asked me to download the song "Successful" for them, which is the best/most official/most well-known version?:
1) Successful - Drake (6:11)2) Successful - Drake feat. Lil Wayne (5:51)3) Successful - Trey Songz feat. Drake (4:26)
They all sound like the exact same song from the 30 second samples on iTunes!
― Shannon Whirry and the Bad Brains, Saturday, 12 December 2009 21:42 (sixteen years ago)
6:11. It has both Wayne and My Mans Trey Songz on it.
― LA CANCION MAS PRETENCIOSA DEL MUNDO... (The Reverend), Saturday, 12 December 2009 21:49 (sixteen years ago)
the original version on the So Far Gone mixtape is Drake/Trey Songz/Lil Wayne. then when it was officially sent to radio the Wayne verse was removed. then when it was released on the Drake EP and the Trey Songz album Trey Songz added a verse and some ad libs in addition to the chorus he sings on the original. imo the Wayne verse sucks and Trey's additions on his version are superfluous, so you're probably best off with the one solely credited to Drake, although afaik every version has Trey singing the chorus.
xpost
― some dude, Saturday, 12 December 2009 22:12 (sixteen years ago)
if 1) has Wayne on it I would say get 3)
