Hot Wired Monstertrux compilation (1993)

"If the bands on this irascible compilation have one factor in common - the "industrial" tag doesn't count - it has to be fear...
Fear of each other, of the future, of a world that is changing at such a sickening pace that all predictions are out, a world where the meek shall most defintely inherit fuck all.

This is the inevitable sound of a generation - ours, yours - that is in turn the inexorable result of several previous generations, whose clammy, pre-pubescent small hours were raveged by nightmares of atomic destruction as much as they were by sweet sexual stirrings, and who grew up believing it was normal. This music is the reflected signal of a time in which serial killers mean little more than wide-eyed pub chat, an age when, as the good Dr HS Thompson has it, sex means death and acid means rain...

Most of the bands gathered for your edutainment have lengthy and sometimes worrying stories attached... The music they so pasionately believe in is sybriatic, intense, feral and sporadically nihilistic, and straddles the intertwined worlds of dance, metal, punk, and grunge with glee"

And so on. That was Neil Perry in the liner notes for this comp that was intended as an introduction to industrial muusic. Well, it worked, I suppose - I got into a few of the bands on here on the back of this. And it was kinda a big deal for me at the time .

I've been having a clear-out and I found it again at the bottom of some box. Still sounds great, but I was wondering which track is the best?

this is actually a really impressive and well thought out track list for the most part

Listening again... a lot, like Thrill Kill Kult and Murder Inc, sound dated. The Young Gods track is really really good though.
