"Babe I'm Gonna Leave" is probably my all time favorite on here...been into "The Song Remains The Same" lately, though.

n00bian princess (some dude), Thursday, 5 February 2009 14:03 (seventeen years ago)

For me, this comes down to "The Lemon Song" vs. "Trampled Under Foot" vs. "The Rover" vs. "In The Evening." "Trampled" takes it by a clavinet.

The Rover, narrowly over Ten Years Gone

kornrulez6969, Thursday, 5 February 2009 14:56 (seventeen years ago)

i like Sandy Denny.

(a mess0 (Ioannis), Thursday, 5 February 2009 15:09 (seventeen years ago)

"ten years gone"

kamerad, Thursday, 5 February 2009 15:34 (seventeen years ago)

That's a surprisingly poor list. Nearly all my least favourite tracks are on there. I like maybe half, and even some of those bug me because there's no way they should be that length (e.g. Whole Lotta Love, Trampled Underfoot)

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 5 February 2009 16:04 (seventeen years ago)

Anyway, it's 'Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You'

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 5 February 2009 16:05 (seventeen years ago)

yeah it's definitely not as strong a list as the 7+ one.

n00bian princess (some dude), Thursday, 5 February 2009 16:08 (seventeen years ago)

fool in the rain?!?

max, Thursday, 5 February 2009 16:08 (seventeen years ago)

fuuuck, my bad dog, i must've deleted it by accident when i was finalizing the list but that totally should be there. can we pick some song nobody likes and make it the unofficial write-in ballot for Fool? maybe Darlene?

n00bian princess (some dude), Thursday, 5 February 2009 16:14 (seventeen years ago)

Ten Years Gone I think.

TRB

Joe, Thursday, 5 February 2009 18:45 (seventeen years ago)

Ten Years Gone might be my all time Zep fave.

Pinto Basin, Thursday, 5 February 2009 19:36 (seventeen years ago)

That's the Way is my favorite zep song.

ryan, Thursday, 5 February 2009 19:40 (seventeen years ago)

torn between "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and "Ten Years Gone". tempted to go with "Ten" because it's not as overplayed, but I think it has to be "Babe".

i love most of the songs on this list.

fwiw (rockapads), Thursday, 5 February 2009 20:55 (seventeen years ago)

i went with the one I had my last fixation on

CaptainLorax, Sunday, 8 February 2009 05:27 (seventeen years ago)

Down By The Seaside

Stylez G. White (Stormy Davis), Sunday, 8 February 2009 06:53 (seventeen years ago)

In the Evening: greatest guitar solo of all time.

Johnny Fever, Sunday, 8 February 2009 06:58 (seventeen years ago)

it's GOOD, but I still maintain that Pagey's WEIRDEST is that crazy 'Hots On For Nowhere' solo, where he is basically just cracked out

Stylez G. White (Stormy Davis), Sunday, 8 February 2009 07:01 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Monday, 9 February 2009 00:01 (seventeen years ago)

nobody votes for Wearing and Tearing?! ILM!!!

(actually I think I might have to go with Travelling Riverside Blues)

I hope all The Rain Song people pick the precursor!

CaptainLorax, Monday, 9 February 2009 03:23 (seventeen years ago)

rock

CaptainLorax, Monday, 9 February 2009 03:27 (seventeen years ago)

I'll throw in the only vote that Traveling Riverside Blues is going to get. It was, surprisingly, the first Led Zeppelin song I ever heard.

youcangoyourownway, Monday, 9 February 2009 03:31 (seventeen years ago)

um dude i was like three posts above you...

37 x 18 = (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 9 February 2009 03:46 (seventeen years ago)

ten years gone is crazy good.

In the Evening: greatest guitar solo of all time.

― Johnny Fever, Saturday, February 7, 2009 10:58 PM

argh I can't find the thread where I told the story of that solo :(

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Monday, 9 February 2009 08:53 (seventeen years ago)

I was looking for it too!

Johnny Fever, Monday, 9 February 2009 16:36 (seventeen years ago)

Maybe it was on the sandbox.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 9 February 2009 16:36 (seventeen years ago)

one for the so-completely-fabricated-it-has-to-be-true ages... sigh...

(voted "In The Evening" btw - Myonga VB so rong re: teh riff)

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Monday, 9 February 2009 17:47 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Tuesday, 10 February 2009 00:01 (seventeen years ago)

I regret nothing, but The Rover got hosed.

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Tuesday, 10 February 2009 05:12 (seventeen years ago)

digging these results, even though I still feel bad that I left out "Fool In The Rain," which probably would've done well.

some dude, Tuesday, 10 February 2009 05:35 (seventeen years ago)

fifteen years pass...

“Bayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy”

calstars, Tuesday, 21 January 2025 04:20 (one year ago)

I've been working from seven seven seven to eleven leven leven every niiiight

the wedding preset (dog latin), Tuesday, 21 January 2025 09:44 (one year ago)

TS: working from eleven to seven every night* vs. working from seven to eleven every night

* (as in the Moby Grape song this was derived from)

Lee626, Tuesday, 21 January 2025 14:52 (one year ago)

one year passes...

didn't know these well enough at the time. now that I've spent more time with the back half of the catalog, i'd go "Ten Years Gone" and tie it up. man it rocks.

in hindsight, i would lobby for one poll with the cutoff at 6:30... i think everything below that is actually just a regular song that completely got away from them rather than an epic as such. oh well. great threads both.

Hiphoptimus Rhyme (Doctor Casino), Thursday, 29 January 2026 18:27 (two weeks ago)

I'd go Song Remains the Same now. Sorry The Rover. You do rock though.

kornrulez6969, Thursday, 29 January 2026 22:35 (two weeks ago)

dr. c otm, i don't think of songs like "darlene" and "that's the way" as epics
