Ruff and tuff early Motown. "Do You Love Me" is the big hit (twice, about 25 years apart), but their Very Best Of runs deep: "Whole Lotta Woman," "First I Look at the Purse," "Can You Do It," "You Get Ugly," "Just a Little Misundestanding" and on and on.

I say "Whole Lotta Woman" is borderline atonal and great; my friend suggests that it's deliberately avant-garde.
