Oh, fuck it. I don't bother following the random thing anymore. Just taking them chronologically (but skipping 1986 and 1995 as we've already done them)

So, here's a poll of the first full year in Norwegian chart history.

Certainly not easy for me to pick anything here though. I guess "Living Doll" is a bit better than the rest.

En Glad Calypso Om Våren – Per Asplin

What is this, Norwegian calypso?

Shallow Gravy (Billy Dods), Wednesday, 11 February 2009 14:44 (seventeen years ago)

I would say mock-calypso.

Here is a 1983 cover version (which hit #2 btw):

Carolina Moon it is then.

Just for being the sort of song that would play in a shack, while people stand outside looking at an Oldsmobile that's broken down, while the wind blows the sand around.

"Carolina Moon" was a b-side in the US. The a-side was the great "Stupid Cupid."

EASILY Buono Sera – Louis Prima

yep, Louie.

Though I actually like the Kingston Trio song, too.

I was also close to going for "Buono Sera". Maybe should have, thinking it over again.

The first ones were published in 1958, but the only 1958 chart topper was "Sail Along Silvery Moon" by Billy Vaughns Orchestra, so he already won that poll. :)
