Can you recommend me some early eighties (or later) keyboard-driven minimalist funk that sounds like "Controversy" by Prince

This is one of my favourite sounds ever, but I don't know too many names besides Prince and his satellite artists who was/is doing this sort of stuff. Rick James maybe? Anyone else?
