Kuk Av Stål and Sandoz were pretty awesome, and he's racked up quite a few others on Full Pupp. I'm sure there's more about this on DJ History but I can't stand that site. Anyone heard it?

Blackbelt Andersen sounds like the name of an evil pirate-bastard in a fucked-up B-movie. Or a weirdo cowboy from a space western? That would explain the cover at least. But actually, no it;s the name of an up and coming DJ / producer from Prins Thomas and Lindstrom’s environment who hails from Norway, too.
Although this is Andersen’s first album he has been into music for quite a while and has released his productions - mainly singles - on Restructured Recordings (as Danny Andresen), Tamburin (with his two friends Kalle and Magnus) and as Blackbelt Andersen on Claremont 56 and Full Pupp.
The self-titled album appears on Full Pupp, too. The label, which was launched back in 2005 by Prins Thomas (with the help of Chicken Lips' Stevie Kotey) to support artists from the Oslo dance scene on one hand and, on the other, to share this great music with the rest of the world. Blackbelt’s music fits perfectly into Full Pupp’s viking disco scheme: Italo disco influenced Detroit techno, pimped up with some Krautrock and, in Andersen’s case, some warming Brazilian beats.

why can't you stand dj history? i've found out about some great stuff on there, and the mixes are almost always good

mixes great, amazing people on there (like every famous English DJ), amazing stuff. I just hate the format, with all the avatar shit and tags on people's posts. it's a headache to navigate.
