I'm gonna go with Love Unlimited "Walking In The Rain" because it's really underrated and is one of the beautiful songs ever written, but I could've easily voted for #1 (though I prefer Millie Jackson's version),3, 6, 7, 9, 11, or 18.

If I disregard the ones I take for granted, it's either 2 or 20.

Al Green - I'm Still in Love with You, with Lyn Collins as a close close 2nd

I like Marvin Gaye's version of "I Wanna Be Where You Are" better.

Nurse Detrius (Eric H.), Saturday, 14 February 2009 01:07 (seventeen years ago)

Wasn't anything, Brainwasher. A few weeks back, when I was on Google Books, a Jet cover was staring me in the face and I had a major "!!!!!!!!!" moment.

Andy K, Saturday, 14 February 2009 01:08 (seventeen years ago)

I think it's gotta be "People Make the World Go Round."

Nurse Detrius (Eric H.), Saturday, 14 February 2009 01:20 (seventeen years ago)

Well, it's probably "Superwoman," but I imagine I'll have a lot of opportunities to vote Stevie throughout the course of these polls.

Nurse Detrius (Eric H.), Saturday, 14 February 2009 01:21 (seventeen years ago)

You know "Lean on Me" is a lot less noticeable since it's been in so many movies/shows/ads, etc, but it's a beautiful song with a great message and damn if he doesn't just sing the shit out of it.

And if you ARE in a tough situation and you sing the first six words, everyone else seriously WILL join in and sing it! Everyone knows the words and it always makes everything feel better. It is just a magic song.

Voting Stylistics, but it could easily have been one of a half dozen others. What a summer. Man, I used to love Honky Tonk.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Damn, didn't see this one. Might have gone for "Think", but then I might have gone for "Superwoman", or maybe "Lean on Me".

bitches and eggs (The Reverend), Sunday, 22 February 2009 07:08 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, I didn't see this either, but would have gone for "I'll Take You There"
