yeah i'm not okay, although i like the black parade stuff better. "sugar we're going down" is also awesome, whereas i write sins not tragedies only has a good hook

I prefer later FOB and MCR stuff, but P!ATD will never top "I Write Sins Not Tragedies".

All 3 are classic. If you picked "Helena", there would be no contest but "I'm Not OK" actually feels less ... massive than the other two. I'm leaning towards P!ATD. They handle rhythm deftly!

Mordy it is quite possible that "I'm Not Okay" is actually more ridiculous than "I Write Sins" but I've never been able to sit through the whole thing. it's so plodding and monotonous and just... UGH.

I don't really like "Sugar We're Going Down,"... honestly the only FOB singles I like are "Dance Dance" and "Takover, The Break's Over"

I like "Dance Dance" a lot more than "Sugar", too, but I gotta admit, the "friction in your jeans" line is pretty good

^^^I mentioned this on ILx at the time, that it was basically a modern day R&B track.

I like the "notch in your bedpost/Line in a song" thing too. "Dance, Dance" is OK but kind of annoying.

this is insane - dunno how one could think a song /w "i'm not okay"'s chorus could be plodding

I dunno, I just tune it out after a while. I'll try listening to it again, but from past experience it just feels like a big slab of tuneless rhythmless hi-gain rawk. there is literally nothing in it that holds my interest.

like somehow if you crossed all the worst qualities of nu-metal, emo, and pop-punk, "I'm Not OK" is what you would be left with

I'm Not OK has the best video which is pretty much all that matters to me when it comes to these guys.

I can agree with that, but the P!atD video is a very very close second

Outside of "I Write Sins" and "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press Coverage", no, not really. P!ATD always struck me as an indie band playing at emo because it was the big thing then, and when they dropped the emo sound on "Pretty Odd" for that haircut indie mess I felt vindicated.

I damn near laughed my head off when I saw the "Northern Downpour" video. How pastorally indie of them. P!ATD are one-trick ponies who should have at least had the good grace to give us gradually diminishing returns and maybe eventually get a second song as good as "I Write Sins", which still lags the other two.

Clearly the other two are immense and not even their best singles!

i don't think Panic really had/have any idea wtf they are. if they hadn't been discovered by Wentz i imagine they'd have more of a Decemberists-type career, and i have no idea what the better/worse on that would be.

the other bands improved after these songs, but it was all downhill for MCR after "I'm Not OK." also so by far the best of these songs.

black parade was one of the biggest fall-offs any band has had in recent memory, i wish jess was still on the board to have my back on this.

The Black Parade isn't very good. But "Famous Last Words" is extremely good.

So will this be followed by the "Helena" vs "Dance Dance" vs "The Only Difference?" I like all three of these better.
