Okay so this is really tough. I'm leaning towards "Fly Like A Bird" because it's so perfect, but then there's "We Belong Together," "Mine Again"(!!!), "Joy Ride," "Shake It Off".... you know what...

I'm going with "Stay the Night"

― i brings that levity (The Brainwasher), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 00:02 (seventeen years ago)

oh my god, no you didn't start this

― Surmounter, Wednesday, 18 February 2009 03:19 (seventeen years ago)

Would have voted "We Belong Together" but decided not to be boring and went for "Say Something".

― I would much rather listen to hard bop jazz and stfu (The Reverend), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 03:21 (seventeen years ago)

whoaaaaa i guess i have some kind of remastered bullshit cuz i have One And Only Part II and Makin It Last All Night (What It Do), which are 2 of my favs

― Surmounter, Wednesday, 18 February 2009 03:23 (seventeen years ago)

i don't know if we belong together can trump Shake It Off tbh

― Surmounter, Wednesday, 18 February 2009 03:23 (seventeen years ago)

circls or we belong together...hmmm.....

i love circles but then i start thinking about that 2nd verse of we belong together and how it kills me every time i hear it...so i'm going to be boring and pick that

― sweaty palms, Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:22 (seventeen years ago)

Predictable or not, We Belong Together is a classic forever and always, although there is much else on here that is damn good.

― the other Alex in MTL, in fact (Alex in Montreal), Wednesday, 18 February 2009 04:29 (seventeen years ago)

― Surmounter, Wednesday, 18 February 2009 06:38 (seventeen years ago)

but honestly can someone talk to me about how One And Only Part II and Makin It Last All Night are amazing? like, really amazing. i didn't realize they weren't on the album proper

imagine having her sing to you like in your living room, no mic or anything. i think i'd pass out.

― Surmounter, Wednesday, 18 February 2009 06:51 (seventeen years ago)

"One and Only" (featuring Twista) (Carey, Samuel Lindey, Carl "Twista" Mitchell) – 3:14 0
"Get Your Number" (featuring Jermaine Dupri) (Carey, Dupri, John Phillips, Cox, Austin, Leslie John, Ashley I 0

would have voted one of these two

'one and only' has a cool legendary traxster beat
'get your number' has a cool Imagination sample

― deej da 5'9 (deej), Tuesday, 24 February 2009 00:23 (seventeen years ago)

one and only is off the hook

― Surmounter, Tuesday, 24 February 2009 00:25 (seventeen years ago)

― Surmounter, Tuesday, 24 February 2009 00:25 (seventeen years ago)

― deej da 5'9 (deej), Tuesday, 24 February 2009 00:28 (seventeen years ago)

― Graduate of the Fantasia Barrino Instatoot of Fine Literature (The Brainwasher), Tuesday, 24 February 2009 02:54 (seventeen years ago)

the first two are both great, i probably prefer 'in the heat of the night' at a push

― deej da 5'9 (deej), Tuesday, 24 February 2009 03:43 (seventeen years ago)

― deej da 5'9 (deej), Tuesday, 24 February 2009 03:44 (seventeen years ago)

no joke thats easily one of my favorite records of the era ... they seemed to shun a lot of the sorta cliches of the period that bother me, and embraced the ones i really like, haha

― deej da 5'9 (deej), Tuesday, 24 February 2009 03:45 (seventeen years ago)

Cool I'll definitely be on the lookout for it next time I hit up the record store

― Graduate of the Fantasia Barrino Instatoot of Fine Literature (The Brainwasher), Tuesday, 24 February 2009 03:47 (seventeen years ago)

three months pass...

I should've voted for "Circles"... it's like my all-time fave Mariah song now.

― Monday Nite Tranny Party (The Brainwasher), Tuesday, 16 June 2009 06:13 (seventeen years ago)

two weeks pass...

i lent this album to somebody, and it got scratched. she's buying me a new one.

― surm, Friday, 3 July 2009 00:37 (seventeen years ago)

also yes CIRCLES is astounding

― surm, Friday, 3 July 2009 00:39 (seventeen years ago)

ranks up there with Your Girl

― surm, Friday, 3 July 2009 00:39 (seventeen years ago)

I'm glad I missed this poll coz having to choose between Stay the night, Circles, We Belong Together AND Your girl might have made my head explodify.

― Christyles, Friday, 3 July 2009 14:59 (seventeen years ago)

Mariah 4EVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

― kornrulez6969, Friday, 3 July 2009 15:03 (seventeen years ago)

eight years pass...

I think Stay the NIght is the one. Been addicted to it for the last few weeks. The layering/harmonizing of the vox is done perfectly.
