"Devil Inside". For me it's the only time that the menace in Hutchence's voice rang true. Plus that's a rad riff.

Euler, Thursday, 19 February 2009 02:28 (seventeen years ago)

The choice isn't even listed.

Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 19 February 2009 02:29 (seventeen years ago)

Of what's there, New Sensation.

Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 19 February 2009 02:30 (seventeen years ago)

It is between "The Original Sin", "Disappear" and "Need You Tonight" for me. Going for the former, because it had something of the typical early 80s sound to it and still didn't sound too much like INXS.

Geir Hongro, Thursday, 19 February 2009 02:48 (seventeen years ago)

daniel otm about the glaring omission. compiled by an idiot.

anyway, might have to be original sin

juicy sweet are (electricsound), Thursday, 19 February 2009 02:52 (seventeen years ago)

yeah, another ghost vote for "don't change" here. but "need you tonight," of these.

("the one thing" isn't on the list either. was shabooh shoobah on a different, non-compilable label?)

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Thursday, 19 February 2009 02:56 (seventeen years ago)

It's weird: this is the Australian track list; I'm assuming "Don't Change" was a bigger Aussie hit.

The Screaming Lobster of Challops (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 19 February 2009 02:59 (seventeen years ago)

it was top 20, as was 'the one thing'. as far as i'm aware most of their albums were on wea so i can't see it as a label thing

juicy sweet are (electricsound), Thursday, 19 February 2009 03:02 (seventeen years ago)

is album titled "complete singles"?

I Was A Taoist Intellectual (sic), Thursday, 19 February 2009 03:37 (seventeen years ago)

ah ah ah

Whiney G. Weingarten, Thursday, 19 February 2009 03:57 (seventeen years ago)

jesus that's a bizarre comp

daniel, esq otm re "don't change" plus tipsy mothra otm re "the one thing" plus "this time" was a single plus sheesh "not enough time" plus was "to look at you" a single because it oughta had been...

but thanks for the poll, because INXS was a truly epic unit masquerading as a pretty good band, and hutchence was a genius vocalist masquerading as a the best dirty-haired jagger rip avail on short notice.

it was. this is sort of amazing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/INXS_discography

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Thursday, 19 February 2009 04:22 (seventeen years ago)

What a terrible comp. I'm ghost voting for "Don't Change" too. "Kiss The Dirt" deserve to be on there (even though I wouldn't vote for it)

Chris Barrus (Elvis Telecom), Thursday, 19 February 2009 04:54 (seventeen years ago)

I had no idea that Canada loved 21st century INXS.

Guayaquil (eephus!), Thursday, 19 February 2009 04:55 (seventeen years ago)

If it had been an option, some of the grumpier, older, members of the Aussie contingent would probably have voted for 'Just Keep Walking':

1. Don't Change
2. The One Thing
3. The Last Time
4. Never Tear Us Apart
5. Original Sin

mr. feeling better (james k polk), Thursday, 19 February 2009 05:41 (seventeen years ago)

will vote for 'original sin' or 'listen like thieves'

but would sooner vote for 'don't change', 'the one thing', or even 'just keep walking'.

Charlie Howard, Thursday, 19 February 2009 06:06 (seventeen years ago)

I wish "Burn for You" were also in this poll. But I would probably still have voted for "Original Sin."

Paul in Santa Cruz, Thursday, 19 February 2009 06:33 (seventeen years ago)

This 2-cd comp is much better and splits in the right spot: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Years_1979-1997

the nile rodgers remix of original sin

Seconded.

The Screaming Lobster of Challops (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 19 February 2009 13:39 (seventeen years ago)

Is this all Kick and later?

Mark, Thursday, 19 February 2009 13:43 (seventeen years ago)

OK, some earlier stuff, but this is missing most of my favorites.

Mark, Thursday, 19 February 2009 13:44 (seventeen years ago)

I should restart this poll then.

The Screaming Lobster of Challops (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 19 February 2009 13:46 (seventeen years ago)

I second the motion on the floor. The Years is astonishing.

butt-rock miyagi (rogermexico.), Thursday, 19 February 2009 15:07 (seventeen years ago)

I give you permission.

The Screaming Lobster of Challops (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 19 February 2009 15:15 (seventeen years ago)

okay, I am locking this poll based on consensus
