Tearz has the best beat, but the lyrics are a bit corny, though I kinda like them exactly because of that. So Tearz.

I love how the beat on Tearz goes all dubby in the end, and the song continues as an instrumental for like a minute or so after the vocal is over.

The other poll helps narrow this down...I mean this is not an easy choice but just look at Protect Ya Neck: you get the "Smokin' Joe Frazier" verse from Deck, RZA's explosive little tangent, GZA's cool summary at the end, and ODB's best-ever single verse performance ("You bite my style I'll bite your BBZZZ BRZZZ RRZZZZ")...

Of course then, 7th Chamber:

"Chessboxin'" in 3rd, some of my favorite shit on here but I dunno - I can do every line of the above two tracks in my head without even thinking about it, they've just completely woven their way into my imagination. What a great album.

some of my favorite lyrics on the alb are on "protect ya neck" but I gotta vote for words + music, and "chessboxin'" has such a freaky instrumental track, it shifts like sand

"bring da ruckus" just because it's a great lead-off to an indestructible album.

In defense of "Method Man": references Hall and Oates, The Rolling Stones, Mary Poppins, Dr. Seuss, and so many things I can't identify it all. It's like an encyclopedia of random shit that I also have trapped forever in my own brain.

Proteck yo neck! Of course its dope but also because mind is blown first time hearing these Wu-tang guys.

This guy I rode the bus with in high school had a dubbed tape of this that was mysteriously missing "7th Chamber Pt. II" and "Protect Ya Neck," so when I finally did hear them, the former felt phony and the latter was this total revelation...so in a funny way the same experience, but not as the first time hearing these Wu guys - but having one of their greatest treasures kept hidden extra long.

There is something to the dream-world version of a succession of unstoppably great, not-a-dud-on-them Wu group albums, containing nothing but the best cuts from all the solo records. It's basically the ideal "what if the Beatles had stayed together" scenario, applied to the Wu.

Of course then you lose all the great side tangents, digressions, and general fabric that lets the best of the solo Wu albums have their own distinctive feel. I wouldn't want to have to give up "Killah Hills 10304" or "The Stomp" or whatever...

I can't imagine why anyone would want a Wu-World other than the one we got (maybe minus a little of the post-97 flood of inferior releases and plus a bit more consistent productions on the second round of solo albums.)

I actually feel like the track works.....except for GZA. As a new jack swing joint it's pretty good, but gza isn't the right rapper for it at all. He's laconic in a very dry way, and not so smooth. Gimme Heavy D.

i dont *want* a wu-world other than the one we got, and of course its inevitable that they were going to go solo (even when 36 came out they were talking about it), but i wouldnt mind one where the wu were still as much of a real cohesive unit like on the first album. i wouldnt have minded if they all just went back to being only group members after the first batch of solo albums actually, but that would never happen for obv reasons.

going to see them on their 25th anniversary tour tonight. haven't seen the clan since 06, and they're doin all of Enter the Wu-Tang.

anybody caught this shit?
