Alan Jackson's Drive is my favorite, thanks to two of his best ever tunes, but, geez, The Eminem Show is the only close contenda. I haven't head Jay-Z's record in years.

"sunny day" is A+. big tymers' general awesomeness is only undermined by the rapping never being as good as the grooves.

anyway what i was coming to say is that it's sorta interesting in retrospect that the biggest-selling record of '02 had a song warning kids that the gubmint was about to send them to a stupid war.

not that it made any more difference than "mosh" did in '04. but you can't say em was asleep at the switch.

2002, along with 2005 (and 2009 looks promising, looking at the list of forthcoming releases from established acts) is actually my favourite year of the noughties, but of course, few of my fave albums of that year did well in Billboard:
