abebe¿abebe (and what), Thursday, 5 March 2009 01:10 (sixteen years ago)

psh. are people still that grumpy about "hey ya"?

there's good singles off a bunch of these, but i am trying and failing to imagine that any of the albums i haven't heard have more good cumulative tracks than outkast. i don't think any of the other albums are even better than speakerboxxx by itself, never mind adding in the good half of love below.

paper plans (tipsy mothra), Thursday, 5 March 2009 01:11 (sixteen years ago)

1. kenny
2. ashlee

xhuxk, Thursday, 5 March 2009 01:23 (sixteen years ago)

I haven't heard about half the list, but Ashlee's is still the only one I still listen to.

The Screaming Lobster of Challops (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 5 March 2009 01:25 (sixteen years ago)

I went with Confessions over Outkast and George Strait.

Euler, Thursday, 5 March 2009 02:22 (sixteen years ago)

Ummm... yeah, I'm voting SB/TLB, seeing as how it's one of the greatest albums ever made and all.

Mr. Snrub, Thursday, 5 March 2009 03:01 (sixteen years ago)

i love how perverse it is that Twista, Lloyd Banks and Jadakiss are on this list and Kanye isn't.

e-thuggin, rollin on dubs, off up in the club wildin like what (some dude), Thursday, 5 March 2009 04:37 (sixteen years ago)

Photoshopping people into the picture is sooooooo 2004.

Nurse Detrius (Eric H.), Thursday, 5 March 2009 04:44 (sixteen years ago)

that jadakiss album was a surprise favorite for me that year - he's not my favorite rapper by a long shot but there were loads of good songs on that cd... the kells and jay-z was sorta a sleeper too, a really nice blend of rap/r&b with loads of cool beats and hooky melodies from r. i actually like it much better than their first collab

am i the only one in the world who finds speakerboxx 90% unlistenable? and love below only had a couple likable tracks as well afair. <runs for cover>

messiahwannabe, Thursday, 5 March 2009 05:28 (sixteen years ago)

I missread that Tim McGraw title as Live Like You Were Djing.

Eazy, Thursday, 5 March 2009 07:06 (sixteen years ago)

Voted Avril. LOVE that album, and think of SB/TLB as a 2003 album.

oh oh (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 5 March 2009 09:20 (sixteen years ago)

voted ashlee though it's not as good as i am me. want to hear the jadakiss.

lex pretend, Thursday, 5 March 2009 09:24 (sixteen years ago)

Voted Green Day because I didn't feel like voting Outkast twice. U2 album is nice too. The majority is of course rubbish, as always on American 2000s lists.

Geir Hongro, Thursday, 5 March 2009 11:59 (sixteen years ago)

Long list, did they all get a week each?

Mark G, Thursday, 5 March 2009 12:01 (sixteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 00:01 (sixteen years ago)

Was taking a photo class around this time and someone in the darkroom liked to put on SB/TLB. It was pretty okay background music for that... I maybe got a little sick of it but I can't remember most of it now so would probably welcome another listen. Red Light District is okay, not great. Hard to believe Encore is this old, but To The Five Bore-Ohs seems even older...

Doctor Casino, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 00:29 (sixteen years ago)

I'd love to see Autobiography and I Am Me reissued as a two-fer, call it "Yep, This Is Me, Alright".

Mark, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 01:09 (sixteen years ago)

was this also the first and last time we heard from D12?

JtM Is Ruled By A Black Man (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 01:59 (sixteen years ago)

MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups Presents: Collision Course - Jay-Z / Linkin Park

That is insulting.

Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 02:11 (sixteen years ago)

was this also the first and last time we heard from D12?

Last for sure - this is the one with "My Band," right? Devils Night a couple years before had had hits (?) with "Purple Pills" and "Fight Music."

Doctor Casino, Wednesday, 18 March 2009 02:48 (sixteen years ago)

Cock College - Dave Matthews Band
hahaha

Ein Herz für Briten (Trackpants Tree), Wednesday, 18 March 2009 04:46 (sixteen years ago)
