I'm trying to decide if Electricana Banana is going to be allowed in at 23, even though the song is technically called Mellow Yellow.

Electric Avenue

HOW DID I FORGET THIS? Me and my cousin once spent what felt like a whole summer (though it was probaby only a couple of days) listening to it and perfecting dubious Eddy Grant impressions.

Then there was the very weird morning when I was on my own at the gym when it got stuck on repeat. There aren't many songs I'd have listened to five times in a row before going to find someone who knew where the CD player lived.

Damn, I'm going to listen to that RIGHT NOW.

Incidentally -- and I can't believe anyone would care, but then this is ILM -- Eddy Grant becomes the 1400th artist to be added to my Last.fm profile.

It was used recently for a Currys commercial ("At Currys we know how to sell you cheap stuff that will burn out 0.36 seconds after the extended warranty we talked you into expires!")

But it is 37.
