i stole a metal dude's t-shirt in richmond just to watch him cry (latebloomer), Sunday, 22 March 2009 03:01 (sixteen years ago)

are they trying to make them look gay on purpose? have they always looked this gay?

iatee, Sunday, 22 March 2009 03:02 (sixteen years ago)

9 - coulda been worse if he decided to rock a system-of-a-down-style braided beard

if you like it then you shoulda put a donk on it (bernard snowy), Sunday, 22 March 2009 03:04 (sixteen years ago)

The looking-down-nose pose is better than the Bono-yelling/orange-sunglasses pose on every other U2 magazine cover.

Eazy, Sunday, 22 March 2009 03:09 (sixteen years ago)

that em cover is dope

the name's ban. suggest ban (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 22 March 2009 03:16 (sixteen years ago)

Haha, I thought that was Michael Stipe.

Eazy, Sunday, 22 March 2009 03:18 (sixteen years ago)

Was going to vote 8, but then I saw the sleeve of his jacket and went for 9.

I know, Mehlt, that embroidery on his jacket! I thought it was the Edge's shirt at first.

Wanted an option for "Looks like one of those twunts out of Foals". Bono is more or less sporting a v. common look amongst 30-something indie-ers who keep telling you how good Elbow are. Except with more eye-liner.

Neil Tennant joining U2 is a turn-up for the books tho.

Hongroe Like the Wolf (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 22 March 2009 13:46 (sixteen years ago)

He got the job after Bono got round to listening to the PSB's cover of "Where the Streets Have No Name".

zero learnt from nero (Neil S), Sunday, 22 March 2009 13:55 (sixteen years ago)

^^^ Tennant was my second thought - my first was "that guy from Placebo's grown a beard"...

snoball, Sunday, 22 March 2009 13:56 (sixteen years ago)

Also "the lives and lusts of Lenny" - which Lenny? Kravitz? Henry? Bennett?

snoball, Sunday, 22 March 2009 13:57 (sixteen years ago)

10

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 22 March 2009 14:06 (sixteen years ago)

Bono is channeling Penn as/in Milk?

Paul, Sunday, 22 March 2009 14:14 (sixteen years ago)

Local Garda, Sunday, 22 March 2009 14:15 (sixteen years ago)

I voted 10. I didn't look at the picture though. Should I?

Pashmina, Sunday, 22 March 2009 14:55 (sixteen years ago)

You should. You'll want to revise your vote upward.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 22 March 2009 14:57 (sixteen years ago)

he looks like chester bennington

a rap lyric with a screen name put in it lol (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 22 March 2009 14:58 (sixteen years ago)

The whole band looks like they want to be Depeche Mode circa 1997.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 22 March 2009 15:01 (sixteen years ago)

Isn't cyberstalking just having too much free time on facebook?

Voted 10 btw.

there's a big metaphor going on in which pussy is medicine (a hoy hoy), Sunday, 22 March 2009 15:04 (sixteen years ago)

Ha, I thought of Depeche Mode too.

Sundar, Sunday, 22 March 2009 16:04 (sixteen years ago)

You'd never have caught Dave Gahan wearing eye make up and a leather jacket in 1997 oh wait...

snoball, Sunday, 22 March 2009 16:14 (sixteen years ago)

That Kid Rock cover is fucking awesome. The Eminem one is a decent concept but fails because the photographer/photo editor was too concerned with getting all the heavy-handed props in the shot, like the white jumpsuit, hat and single false eyelash wouldn't have quite conveyed the theme, so the knife and glass of milk had to be shoved right up at eye-level. Weak.

I was just thinking that U2 picture strongly suggests "A Team reboot"

snoball, Sunday, 22 March 2009 20:11 (sixteen years ago)

Clayton as Hannibal. Bono as "Howling Mad" Murdock, really playing up the idea that the character isn't mad at all, just pretending to be... "see, he's completely mad!!! he's wearing really bad make-up!!! only a totally mad person would do that!!!"

snoball, Sunday, 22 March 2009 20:13 (sixteen years ago)

Blue October's new cd is produced by Steve Lillywhite.
