Well, maybe not necessarily "rock", but songs that aren't straight-out acid house / techno / etc. List them here, please.

I Guess Simmons and other electronic drums don't count? Or there would have been lots, like more or less the entire "Hysteria" album by Def Leppard, for instance.

Didn't Phil Collins use a lot of 303-like sounds on his ballads throughout the 80s? Stuff like "One More Night" etc.
303s arent drum machines theyre the squiggly bassline sounds on acid house records. the drums were 808s (old hiphop/phil collins) 707s (mr fingers) or 909s (later techno). i cant think of any straight rock tunes with acid lines other than loads of horrible electroclash

Actually there are a couple tracks on Lenny Kravitz' "5" album that had that kind of bass sounds, but I don't remember the songtitles right now.
― Geir Hongro, Tuesday, 24 March 2009 23:19 (sixteen years ago)
That is a lot of sounds for one song.

Revive. Casper (5) is OBSESSED with the squelchy 303(ish?) bass sound in Shake Your Rump by Beastie Boys. Laughs his head off every time it comes on. It’s amazing to witness. What else might give him such a kick?
― Hey Bob (Scik Mouthy), Sunday, 28 May 2023 21:43 (two years ago)
that's a sample from Car Wash OST iirc. I think it's a Moog Taurus. Casper might enjoy Night of the Thumpasorous Peoples.
