Sort of tempted to go and buy it. So who's heard it then?

Have been listening to the tracks on MySpace, am hearing bits of early New Order and Gang Gang Dance and a bunch of stuff like that. Some lightly dubbish rhythms, lots of indie-girl vocals. Some of it's actually a bit like a more listenable version of the High Places record, but a bit more fleshed out.

yeah from what i've heard on myspace it's way better than high places, keen to check out the album as well.

Yeah, I thought it might be Kate bait. They're touring with SVIIB later in the spring.
x-post - oh cheers, Neil.

It is on balance better than High Places I reckon. The vocals are a bit bloodless and I preferred when the production was a bit rougher round the edges on their early stuff, but it is pretty solid overall without being spectacular.

Reminds me of the Fever Ray album, production-wise.

I am six tracks in and this already sounds like one of those records that feels cynically put together by robots for me to fall in love with. I hear elements of The Knife and Fever Ray in the synth shimmers, but this also sounds in places like Gang Gang Dance with a pop sheen, the Chromatics with a sense of momentum, or a druggier version of the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs album. It was produced by Dave Sitek, so the latter bit makes sense. Oh, and the sound is huge, with walls of guitar fuzz and incessant beats and rumbling bass. It is making me so happy right now.

Can't Stand It is super awesome, the rest didn't particularly appeal to me.

The swelling chorus of female voices on the final track, Drugged, is astonishing, with these enormous Spiritualized synths crashing and echoing around. It's loads better than School of the Seven Bells and that is almost entirely down to the production from what I can tell.

yeah i liked "drugged" quite a bit. the rest was kinda there but not v interesting to me

Slow learner is really good too, yoda-esque chorus and all. Something a bit Kim Wilde about it?
