i know this could go on the SUBLIME WHIRLED MUSIC ETC ETC thread, but i wanna keep it focused on ethnic folkways records, which simultaneously fill me with excitement/trepidation every time i see them. also yes i used to work for folkways so i should know this maybe but i was mostly into the first three wire records when i worked there and i still like them so fine, ok?

looking for:
- groovy/melodic ethnic pop/folk
- beautiful vocal music
- NOIZE
- already into w. african/highlife and SE asian stuff (but yknow please recommend those recs, too)

you said you're into the SE asian stuff already, so this is probably redundant, but "Music of Indonesia, Vol. 20: Indonesian Guitars" is pretty amazing. looking forward to more recommendations because if they're all that good i want want want.

2) is there anywhere on this damned internet that has any sort of "guide" to ethnic folkways releases, like which are the most outstanding of the outstanding, which are particularly unique, etc? i've been searching on google for literally 6-7 minutes and i'm getting frustrated up in here
