You may or may not have read the classic "Rough Guide to..." thread from a few years ago where ILM compiled single disc compilations of various genres, artists, record labels, etc in an attempt to emulate the Rough Guide series.
Here is the original thread:
The Rough Guide to . . .
This is the thread where we pretend we work for the World Music Network label and have been asked to compile a single-disc [repeat: single-disc] overview of a single genre for their Rough Guide series. "Genre" can mean whatever you want it to. Traditionally the Rough Guide discs have been over 60 minutes and/or at least 15 tracks long, though not always both. (The recent Rough Guide to Ska, for example, is 20 tracks totaling 48 minutes.)
So . . . let's begin!

It was fun, creative, and incredibly educational to have our talents put to use with specialists crafting these little playlists of various genres for the collective benefit. I want to revive that idea but, in this thread, limit the compilations to music and genres that are strictly from this decade (since it's, you know, almost over). I want the power pop expert to tell us what the best power pop songs from this decade were, I want the people from the Rolling Teen threads to inform about the decade's most essential teen pop songs and albums, and I want to see a Rough Guide to Jacques Lu Cont/Thin White Duke Remixes.
Can it still be done? Of course it can: this is ILM. So come out, would-be compiler of of a Rough Guide to Los Campesinos EP-only tracks. You, too, can be of service.
