do they have guitars or guitar pedals that let you play all the sound effects you can choose from on many keyboard synthesizers? (like trumpet, congos, voice etc..)

because I would love to hear a guitar shred some trumpet synths or whatever. guitars could be the ultimate synthesizer if they wanted to.

I think this is what Disco Inferno did, if I recall by hooking up their guitars to midi software in order to trigger samples?

(my) MIDI guitar pick up. You can send this to a guitar to MIDI converter, then plug it into anything that accepts standard MIDI.
