looking for a USB audio output thingy (xposted to IMM)

so, my radio station has an old Emac for an on-air playback source. the 1/8th headphone jack has been acting up and i want to run the audio through a USB port rather than fixing the jack (way hard) or getting a new computer.

criteria:
-sounds at least as good as the old headphone jack
-doesn't have any issues with the computer sleeping/hibernating. i don't want to have to reset something everytime the computer wakes up.
-compatible with a powerpc mac
-preferably it has a flat surface about 2" x 1" for me to glue a technalock onto

i don't care about the audio input quality. this computer isn't used for that. should i just get a griffin imic?

thanks for any advice you can give!

(or just type "jack" after that, since usb headphone jacks also exist, obv.)

Doing it that way, it sounds miles better than the old headphone jack.

Just seems bizarre to want to buy a cheap DAC and then spend just as much money on the lock you secure it with.

we already have a bunch of locks sitting around.

I use an Edirol UA-1 and it's a cheap piece of shit but it works fine. I think the more recent product is the UA-1EX.
