Yo yo y'all: I'm on this year's programming committee for the EMP Pop Conference, the world's greatest multi-disciplinary music-discussion gathering (if you're not in the know: http://www.empsfm.org/education/index.asp?categoryID=26 ).
There are tons of amazing presentations on all kinds of music every year (this year's theme is "Dance Music Sex Romance") but of course most people can't get to it - and even people participating in the conference miss most of it, as there are three or four sessions going on simultaneously.
So we've made arrangements with iTunes to post video of all the sessions to their new "iTunes U" section, as well as to YouTube for non-iTunes users. It's a big leap in bringing all the great research, thinking and jokes that come out of the conference every year to a broader public.
For that, though, we need a small army of videographers, and there's no real budget for it unfortunately, aside from compensating people for any equipment costs. So if you guys know (or are) digital-video-camera enthusiasts in the Seattle area who might be able to volunteer a few hours (or a few dozen hours!) to contribute to the effort, it'd be great if you could put them in touch with me and the rest of the programming committee.
I'm sure at least party invitations would flow, not to mention a resume item and eternal glory in music-nerd heaven.

Whoops, I suppose I should add - the conference this year is April 16-19 and we particularly need people Friday 9 am to 6 pm, Saturday 9 am to 6:30 pm, and Sunday 9 am to 12:30 pm.

Yeah I guess I should have said "amazing idea if a videographer in Seattle comes through." Drop an email to local film departments at colleges/universities (if you haven't already).
