Do you think privacy is something artists should lose if they are public?

I want to ask question.
Do you think artists are here so everyone can come into their personal lives to talk about everything they do in their personal lives?

Do you have to know everything about people's personal lives to feel connected to an artist?

Do you think the internet should expose all truths about people non-artist included?

Do you think if it is true that is not an evil thing to say?

If someone entertains you, do you need to have much more then just music?

ARe you satisfied with just music, or do you need to know alot of personal things about people to feel close to someone?

Well, I don't want to repeat this. I have noticed that promotion of artists has alot to do with exposing truths about their personal lives to
gain attention for them. Some people of course do not want fame because of the lack of privacy that offers someone and pain as well.

If the public demands a loss of privacy for an artist, the public will lose the ability to hear alot of people because I would say most people like privacy and they are modest ..they don't want all their body parts exposed to the world.

There are exceptions. Some people are exhibitionists and want everyone to know everything about their lives.

I am not one of them.

I like privacy..

I am sure you do too if you are like most people.

Marissa?

I have a site Virgo Noir, I worked on it myself. It took me 2 straight weeks to figure out html for this.

I had a website but made it look better.

I like my site Virgo Noir.
It is a simple name.

I am a simple person.

I like music. I also value my privacy.

I value my reputation and I am sure most people value these things.

I also try to treat people like I would like to be treated most of the time.

All people are imperfection but should the net expose every imperfection about every person out there just because the net should expose?

Does anyone deserve privacy, freedom, respect?

I don't post every personal thing that I know about people on the net.

When people start digging for info i wonder if they have a life.

Most people are imperfect where is the editor?

Mendaner, what are your thoughts on RFID chips?

O.k no pants is sexy. But would you like the public to stare at your private parts?
Would you like the public to have your private parts plastered all over the net?

If they offered you alot of money would you give up your private life and just like everyone from every part of the world stare at your privates?

mendaner, Sunday, 12 April 2009 23:28 (sixteen years ago)

I just wanted to say to Libcrypt that I understood how he was trying to help Marissa, and I felt bad for him because I totally understood where he was coming from but I also understood where Marissa was coming from, too.

I think you are smart to say "no pictures" Marissa. I respect you for that. Your new song was very hypnotic and bewitching, I enjoy it.

I don't think anyone would be comfortable with chips do you think so?

Maybe someone would be convinced that this is o.k, but most people...No, most people would question...or maybe I am wrong..

what do you think?

do we need cameras everywhere?

do we need to see everyone's private parts and know their personal lives?

Do we need to know soooo many personal details about people ..their marital problems, personal problems, drug problems, money problems?
do we need to expose every person in public ????

mendaner, Sunday, 12 April 2009 23:31 (sixteen years ago)

No we don't. It's the music that matters. Above all else.

Take The Gothheads Bowling (Bimble), Sunday, 12 April 2009 23:32 (sixteen years ago)

Bimble is speaking truth

Also I have a great respect for Milton so if you have a long correspondence with him as you say, then I have great respect for that. He is a very cool dude.

Take The Gothheads Bowling (Bimble), Sunday, 12 April 2009 23:33 (sixteen years ago)

Maybe most people would like to lose their privacy, freedom, and give up control of their lives?

mendaner, Sunday, 12 April 2009 23:34 (sixteen years ago)

oh no, I don't think most people want that at all.

Take The Gothheads Bowling (Bimble), Sunday, 12 April 2009 23:35 (sixteen years ago)

Milton seems nice most of the time.

I try not to hold judgement of people, but he has hurt my feelings. He has also been a sweet person.

A two sided coin.

mendaner, Sunday, 12 April 2009 23:35 (sixteen years ago)

Hey, I am going to go get an ice cream cone, now sorry folks. My sweet tooth calls...I'll be back later :)

Take The Gothheads Bowling (Bimble), Sunday, 12 April 2009 23:36 (sixteen years ago)

hey mendaner, from what I know Milton is a good person.

Everyone has the right to privacy.

sleeve, Sunday, 12 April 2009 23:40 (sixteen years ago)

Well, we both don't know Milton. You don't really know me either.

The net is a deceiving place. What you see is not always the truth.

Someone may seem like a terrible person and in reality they may be extremely kind...just going through a rough time.

Someone may seem like a super nice person, but in reality they could be a terrible person.

It is very deceiving ..the net is...

The net can be a complex place.

I have no problem with artists performing under mexican wrestling style alter-egos to protect their privacy. In fact I wish more artists did this more often besides Insane Clown Posse.

Philip Nunez, Monday, 13 April 2009 00:26 (sixteen years ago)

I think for the artist it can be a slippery slope sort of thing - you start out wanting success and believing that in the present media/online cultural environment that going the faceless-enigma "just listen to the records, it's all right there" route will prove counterproductive, so you start blogging and Twittering and updating your MySpace and Facebook pages three times a day each and before you know it you've inadvertently become an exhibitionist and you haven't written a song in a year.

I think this is really a very surprisingly true thing to say, and no one ever says this, either.

i wonder what it's like being an artist
