I Took a Pollgirl for my Wife - The Luke Haines Poll

Having recently read 'Bad Vibes' I'm more certain than ever that I never want to meet him. Despite being a complete bounder I still love much of his work. Which one does ILM love most of all, if any?

Ignored his work with The Servants as it's not really part of his canon.

Most likely I'll go with something by BBR as Sarah Nixey sweetens what can be quite an astringent taste sometimes.

New Wave is superb (I like Christgau's description of it as Pet Shop Boys as a guitar band), but I love the tougher sound of Now I'm a Cowboy.

How I Learned To Love The Bootboys equal favourite with After Murder Park.

I love pretty much everything he does. But the Auteurs records always have a few clunkers intermixed with the Godlike genius songs. So Facts Of Life for me.

For such a grumpy dude, he's got a way with melody, though. Right now I'm particularly partial to Fighting In the City Tonight, from his last record. That should be a hit.

This is a bitch poll but I will swing the 3 vote majority by sticking to Now I'm a Cowboy.

Need to dig these out again. BBR had some gooduns. I listened to Bootboys loads at the time but can barely remember a track without looking it up.
