The Wackness Soundtrack

Poll will close on 4/20 only because it seemed like an appropriate length of time.. not because of 4:20

And this is the entire soundtrack, including songs from both versions of the movie. It's probably an impossible choice (I know it is for me), but I wanted to post this just to see what happens...

And I think this is my new #1 movie soundtrack ever, surpassing Gummo.

billstevejim, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 03:53 (seventeen years ago)

Okay... hold up... The version of the movie I saw definitely included "Everyday Struggle" which is not listed here...

goddamnit...

billstevejim, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 03:54 (seventeen years ago)

"It Was a Good Day" is v. difficult to fuck with.

Passantino Complexion (Noodle Vague), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 03:59 (seventeen years ago)

went with the world is yours, would have gone with Tearz if I'd seen it first.

Suggesteban Cambiasso (jim), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 04:01 (seventeen years ago)

holy hell this is ridiculous

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 05:50 (seventeen years ago)

3. "Flava in Ya Ear" -- Craig Mack feat. The Notorious B.I.G.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 05:58 (seventeen years ago)

good soundtrack, appalling film.

the next grozart, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 09:38 (seventeen years ago)

I went for 93 till infinity then i noticed it was a good day...oops.

ABSOLUTELY NO SCRUBS WHATSOEVER, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 09:44 (seventeen years ago)

A neighbor of mine force-lended this film to me. It didn't strike as something I'd tolerate, but I ended up reallly enjoying it. Like any of you care.

Alex in NYC, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 13:49 (seventeen years ago)

I'd really like to know what appealed to people about this film (other than the soundtrack). To me it was the most boring thing I've ever snoozed through with mopey unlikeable and contrived characters, ridiculous unintentional anachronisms (were people other than maybe a tiny arrondissement of rappers really calling their girlfriends "shawty" back in 94?), and bare-all plot.

the next grozart, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 13:55 (seventeen years ago)

force-lended

force-leant?

Agreed, there's no reason I should have liked this film -- I had no sympathy for the protagonist, but for some reason, I just got sucked in. Of couse, it could have been the Guinness talking.

Alex in NYC, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 14:03 (seventeen years ago)

a tiny arrondissement of rappers

just sayin, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 14:04 (seventeen years ago)

What a nice Parisian allusion.

Alex in NYC, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 14:16 (seventeen years ago)

possibly would have voted for "Everyday Struggle" if it was on here but went for "93 'til Infinity" cos it's one of my favourite productions ever

Number None, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 14:26 (seventeen years ago)

93 til, due to partly sentimental reasons. Nothing takes me back to summers bumming around, skating and whatnot, like that does.

hope this helps (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 14:30 (seventeen years ago)

i can't judge "it was a good day" against "things done changed" against "bump n' grind" against everything else.

Ømår Littel (Jordan), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 14:32 (seventeen years ago)

everytime i hear It Was a Good Day, I just wanna listen to Footsteps in the Dark.

hope this helps (Granny Dainger), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 14:33 (seventeen years ago)

I'd really like to know what appealed to people about this film (other than the soundtrack).

The soundtrack made it good. I liked the main character pretty much only because he listened to good music.

billstevejim, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 15:25 (seventeen years ago)

I thought he called the girl "shorty/shawty" becasue, compared to him, she actually is short.

The Wild Shirtless Lyrics of Mark Farner (C. Grisso/McCain), Wednesday, 15 April 2009 15:53 (seventeen years ago)

Bahahaha

Alex in NYC, Wednesday, 15 April 2009 15:53 (seventeen years ago)

I would like "Disarm" to do well in this, but it probably won't.

everytime i hear It Was a Good Day, I just wanna listen to Footsteps in the Dark.

The version used in the movie is the one that samples Let's Do It Again.

billstevejim, Saturday, 18 April 2009 04:20 (seventeen years ago)

It was a good day still so overrated.
Movie wasn't great by any means but its so sweethearted & w a dope soundtrack I don't see why anyone would hate it.

autogucci cru (deej), Saturday, 18 April 2009 07:03 (seventeen years ago)

sadly the cut that hit the internet early was far superior to the theatrical

booth, Saturday, 18 April 2009 09:47 (seventeen years ago)

mcs act like they dont know is prob the weakest song on there.

titchy (titchyschneiderMk2), Saturday, 18 April 2009 11:15 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Saturday, 18 April 2009 23:01 (seventeen years ago)

Everyday struggle was in it, as was a track by Sigur Ros.

As it is, voted for Bonita Applebum.

Josh L, Sunday, 19 April 2009 01:55 (seventeen years ago)

voted for r kelly.

titchy (titchyschneiderMk2), Sunday, 19 April 2009 08:43 (seventeen years ago)

To me it was the most boring thing I've ever snoozed through with mopey unlikeable and contrived characters

^On the money. The protag in this is so uncharismatic and charmless. Plus his big guppy-mouth was horribly distracting and offputting. Plus the film wasn't very good anyway.

DavidM, Sunday, 19 April 2009 10:29 (seventeen years ago)

There's an ILE thread where you can write about that.. this one is about the bangin soundtrack.

billstevejim, Sunday, 19 April 2009 15:33 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Sunday, 19 April 2009 23:01 (seventeen years ago)

i abstained, too many good songs

...and you will know us by the trail of banned (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 19 April 2009 23:02 (seventeen years ago)

depressingly low turnout..

very lame.

billstevejim, Monday, 20 April 2009 05:49 (seventeen years ago)

seven months pass...

I came three songs from being able to put this together from my own library. I was disappointed by the three that were missing.

B. Applebum
Reminisce
'93

Three solid tracks I should have.
