i've developed a pretty visceral hatred Boston accents from speaking to people in Massachussets on the phone at work all th etime, but it's still somehow mildly charming to me if Jonathan Richman or Mark Sandman is singing in the accent

I was driving on Route 1 the other day and saw some amazing graffiti on a rock on the side of the road. It said RIP Brad Delp and had a pic of his face. Man, I wish I'd had my camera.

kind of an interesting look into the bosstown sound, feat. producer alan lorber, bernard purdie (who i didn't realize is playing on the ultimate spinach records), and psych-pop group orpheus, including some early recordings of theirs as when they were known as the villagers.

(lorber isn't among the interviewees, i just mean his work is discussed.)

Anyone know the late-80s early-90s Boston band The 360's? Less well known than anyone on this list, for sure, they're not on streaming services. Someone put one of their songs (below) on a mixtape for me in 1991 and I've always loved it. Kind of a more fun, female-fronted, neo-psych Smashing Pumpkins.
