i always thought of it as jobim pop with a dash of kenny rankin. as much as i love bto, and i love bto, and as much as bto is known for their brawny rockers, this song is by far my fave. i was obsessed with it years ago. would play it over and over.
and the guitars....come one, get out of here, friggin' beautiful.

i would never have thought that this song was by bto. but you are right it is pretty great. and better than 99% of all ballads by hard rock bands. who would have thought that they were capable of something as breezy and delicate. for me they have always been canadian lumberjacks. i loved "you ain't seen nothing yet" at the time - i was 11 - but i cannot listen to it any more. it's engraved in my brain forever. especially the stutter.
